Hydrofoil and sharks

It’s been a long time since the last discussion I found about hydrofoil and shark encounters. Hydroifoil’s popularity has increased a lot lately I think it would be interesting to hear about new shark incidents while hydrofoiling and discuss if sharks might be attracted by hydrofoils or not. I’m quite curious about it. Has anyone heard of any recent incident?

I just realised I posted on the wrong forum. Is it possible to move it to the Hydrofoil forum?

Big tiger shark after someone foiling chanel in Hawaii.. couple of years ago though.

I had a baby hammerhead chasing the foil i borrowed and fell off on top of it! Was only 3 or 4ft long though.

Friend hit a big shark a while back too.

I had the same experience at flag beach in the deep water between the islands, a baby hammerhead swimming alongside me, it did freak me out seeing it, as i looked around for its parents, and every time I have been in the same area of deep water I try not to fall in, it feels a bit spooky after experiencing that funny looking little shark keeping pace with me only a few feet away from my foil.

Like the comments afterwards more than the story.
