Hi All,
I've read quite a few posts on here, but can't find the specific answer to my question. Which (and what type) of kite would be best for my needs. So i would like to ask you foiling gods directly
I'm an intermediate foiler (mostly at sea in NL). I currently use my wave kite quiver NEO 6 & 9m from about 12-20kn, anything more i take my TT or waveboard. Anything below 12-13 knots my 9m tends to drop & isn't able to get me going. I also own a 12m NEO but i've been told the difference in light wind between the 9 and the 12 are limited. Can anyone confirm?
I'm looking to see if it's worth to add a kite to my quiver for range of 8-13 kn, but on a budget. I don't really want to spend 1k euros on a second hand soul atm (i've spent too much on gear already this year).
My ambition in foiling is to play in waves, and do some mellow cruising along the coast (and who knows a bit of jumping). I won't be racing. I own a F-one TS51, 85cm alu mast, IC6 850cm2 wing. I'm 76kg.
Recently some 10-12 meter Flysurfer speed's 3,4&5 have come online secondhand in a variety of price ranges. They seem like they would do the trick, but does any of you have experience? how do they do in waves? Is it recommended to use a foilkite at sea (or would a single strut be better)? How is the relaunch in light wind? Or should I be looking at other kites?
(what I've read so far is that the Lotus cloth on the 4&5 is worth it?)
Thanks a bunch for helping out.
