Lost at sea @Tenerife - expected at any Atlantic coast

Postby BraCuru » Sun Sep 13, 2020 9:43 am

Bracuru Hover (white board) with Moses Comet likely is drifting somewhere in the North Atlantic.
Lost in November last year.
Wonder if anybody find it ever.
Likely it could be met in The Caribbean, Mexico Bay, East USA coast.
Less likely it could be back to Canary Islands or finish its trip in Norwegian fjords ;)
Very unlikely it could decide to travel somewhere into southern Atlantic too.
Who ever spot it remember about this topic please ;)

Correct. El Medano.
A rider's harness parted in two halves. Would you believe it?
He lost all gear at once. Had to swim back ashore.
His kite was recovered but the board was unseen anymore.

I had a similar problem but not as bad since I didn’t lose my board.

The harness stitching on the webbing that held my spreader bar broke allowing my harness to split in two. The bar got ripped out of my hands and I watch my kite fly away. It was a Peter Lynn Arc with auto zenith and the harness acted as a sea anchor while the kite flew away in the neutral position. Wind was side shore and I watched my kite fly away perfectly for over a kilometer.

After a long swim in I got in my car and eventually found the kite a very long way down the beach with no damage.

This is exactly what happened to my friend. Normally he uses a seat harness but that time he decided to use a waist one. Its stitches parted on his back splitting the harness in symmetrical two halves.
The parted harness worked as a sea anchor too. However his Soul was kitelooping occasionally and was picked up by some boat before crushing on the Montana Roja.
The rescuers could not located the swimmer who safely managed to beach on the rocks of Montana Roja.

Harnesses splitting in two! That's a new one for me.

How does a harness split in two?! Soft harnesses? I use only hardshell so this is confusing, in 15 years kiting never heard of that. You mean it ripped apart at the straps?
