Problem Inflating and Deflating Ozone Wasp

Postby skideeppow » Sat Oct 31, 2020 11:00 pm

Just getting into wing foiling and i have a brand new 5m wasp. The center strut is super slow to inflate and the it really does not deflate. The hose that brings the air from the main strut to the center strut is super narrow see pix and gets pinched easy.
Am I missing something with this design. Seems like a flaw.

Yes it’s a problem, well not a problem just something to live with. I too have the 5mtr Wasp, for inflations get a bigger pump, the wing has a lot of volume so needs a big pump.
For deflation try rolling the strut first from the tip, that way you can reach the hose and wiggle it if it gets kinked. Lock off the strut and roll up the wings.

I have a Naish 5.4 wing. the centre strut doesn't really start inflating until just before pressure shows on the guage and it's the last thing to deflate but I think it's acceptable. It's fractionally more work pumpung and I can either be patient and wait when I want to roll it up or I can just roll the tips together and then start rolling the end of the inflateable boom up at which stage it deflates very easily.
