I've seen this shared a lot, but the whole design makes no sense to me.
Why would the connection for the kite be so far aft? The forces just don't line up.
How do you launch a giant foil kite (20m-50m) in heavy winds for a boat that can only go one direction?
Sailrocket 2 noted that the wing sail was designed to allow them to tow the whole boat back to the top of the course without having to stop and lower it. I love kites and all, but a wing sail just makes a lot more sense here. I get that they are trying to eliminate heeling moment, but the sailrocket 2 already already did that with the way they arranged their wing sail.
