going up kite size or front wing size for light wind

so, my front wing is a 1150 mid aspect and my light wind kite is 11mm chrono v3 ul,,,, i have come across a situation where my 11m can easily fly but not quite enough power. i have a 1650 front wing that i was going to use for winging or something,,,,

but is it feasible to put on the 1650 for even lower winds, thus needing less kite power?

is it even fun, if so?

or is the amount of gain very insignificant compared to going up a a few meters in kite size?

is there any reasonable correlation between front wing size and kite sizes in that light wind situation?

Why not try it? But a 1650 sq cm front wing with an 11m foil kite sounds kinda boring to me. I’d rather get a faster foil and bigger kite.

it does,,,,but,,,,i already have the bigger front wing,,, and a new bigger kite is expensive of course,, this would only be for those occassional super light wind times when i am already at beach and wind eases off. i wouldn't make a habit of kiting like that.

I will try it but there is so much experience on this forum, i figured someone might have also tried it or have some thoughts.

If your 11 m2 kite can pull you out of the water, but you feel your 1100 cm2 wing does not lift sufficient for foiling or transitions, the bigger wing will work fine.

And IMO much more fun than a bigger kite.

If you want to go even lower, use longer lines on the 11.

Try it, before and probably instead of investing in a boring kite

Of course, if you want power and speed, it is no go...

As you got the gear, ride it, you might find it works great, and fun turning, or you might find it too slow.

This was the first year I used a bigger wing for LW Kite Foiling. I regularly use the Armstrong HS1050/232 wing set. I started using the HS1550 Wing in around 8-10 knots. I was super impressed. Nice lift, very stable and fast(for a big wing). I was using 3m less kite than other foilers .
I would definitely give the 1650 a try. Is it the North? If so, it's an excellent wing. I have spent lots of time on the North Sonar 1150 and it is very nice! North will have a full carbon set up coming out in the spring.
