1) Did you measure the top speed 695 vs 800? It should be pretty similar?

2) 633/679 has an impressive low wind performance, do you find that 800 is comparable or is it closer to 695 that needs a bit more wind then large wings.

I loved my 683s and 679 which are same wing. Once I rode 683s I sold my 633 and never looked back. Reached about 26 MPH one time I decided to measure top speed. Great wing yet later I switched to 695 and later to 800 because they mount on lighter, more compact 647 fuselage. Also higher aspect wings are a bit more roll stable, not that I would really care about that though.

679 is awesome but depending on your weight/style/kites/conditions you might want to consider 695 or 800.
Hey, tangent....for a female in the 150lb range....what would be similar to the 679 from a low speed perspective....695 or 800? I bought her a 679 but its still in the box....I wanted it under the tree at christmas but wasn't gonna get the fuse yet. Pisses me off to have to buy that big fuse a second time.
For 150lbs the 695 would be plenty lowendish wing. The 800 might seem as too large wingspan-wise, but it’s also smooth and even more lowendish, yet it can scream pretty fast and be very stable at speed if one enjoys fast rides.

Really, the heavy/bulky surf fuselage is something that set me back off from riding 633-683s-679. Also 483-450 stabilizers are relatively thick and not as awesome as 425

What wind does she ride now?

It would be just so good to have a dealer who rented out any choice of wing combo for a fee, no obligation to buy.
in the hope that the renting foiler would find and buy the combo of his dreams, we all have them, that's common ground for sure!
could it happen?
would it happen?
we can all dream!

I've been using the 679 for the past year when I sold my 633 and was awaiting a replacement 633. The importer only had a 679 and so I gave it a try and now there's no need for the 633 :D It's a lovely wing and it's plan shape and approx. 1000 sq cm area seems to hit the sweet spot from under 10 knots to 30+. It's got a very similar low end to the 633 but more top end and is very agile and fun in waves.

I'm only 65kg but I recently sold a 679 to one of my customers who weighs 100kg. He loves the wing for its low end and user friendly characteristics. His main kite with the 679 is a 5m Peak4 which he can get foiling with in 10-11 knots. He also tried my 4m Peak4 on his 679 in 15-20 knots and the foil was just as easy to use.
For a lot of people it is probably the best foil to choose if you wanted to be a one foil kiter.

As a dealer I'm reasonably happy to give some foilers a try of some of the gear I stock... with me there as well

But the risk of loaning foils out and have them come back after hitting rocks and sandbars at speed or dropped on concrete on the way to the beach :o It's more risk than I can afford.

How about if the person paid full price for the wing. Then they return it for a percentage refund. The percentage depends on how how many weeks they keep the wing and how much damage it has.

Say 2% for each week they keep the wing. Plus extra percentage for any minor scratches. Deep scratches = no refund.

I went about 30 MPH on 800 easily and at that speed it was very stable, unlike 695. I’d blame washout on the 695 wing for funny performance at top end. Will push some more and will measure it, though I’d be mostly trying to fly faster on thinner race wings.

One thing to note - 800 gets pushed around more because of the area/wingspan so 695 might feel tad better in churny conditions. The 679 on same day I felt it was even more impacted.

633 lowend goes to level of “parachuting” :)
683s/679 stalls at slightly higher speed compared to 633 but is still fine for 200+ lbs rider addicted to smaller kites
800 has smaller area and higher aspect so yes, it’s not super lowend wing but works for me pretty good, not speaking of 150 lbs OP mentioned.

I’m not a magician and wing area is hard to cheat 1233 sq.cm for 633, 1005 for 683s/679, 840 for 800 and 770 for 695. Area matters. Yet if you put larger stabilizer the lowend feels to improve. Not sure it actually does, but it felt that way.

Thanks grigorib, what other wings beside 800 do you still ride?

This is what I ended up with so far. Haven’t had opportunity to ride the 1000 yet and debating whether to sell 695.
637 is thinner race wing and is fast so that’s what I’m keeping it for

The 1000 was not a planned purchase. A friend was selling it and I thought I should give it a try. People ability to prone surf in it quite impressive but my other friend who rode it while I was fooling around learning to efoil mentioned it’s not a lightwind wing and not a beginner wing. He was on “huge” 9m UFO and wind was quite light.

Very rarely there are days on a trip when wind is near-hopeless light and even 9m on long lines won’t get me going on 800. For those days I’m debating getting a huge slow wing I’d hate to use normally but would use on rare occasions

I thought of selling 637 and buying 645 or 671 - I’m a bigger guy and extra area won’t hurt as long as the wing is thin and fast.
Yet even 637 surprised me how with smaller area it flew fine for me.

I haven’t tried the 671 yet, I just have strong belief that Moses won’t mess up their race wings.
