Yeah, I'm looking for the opposite of you, I like foiling and all, but I'd rather have waves, so Barbados is #1 on my list next year for February. In any case, I can echo Grand Cayman, also Turks and Caicos, St. Croix is another spot that is a bit less touristy and very solid winds with open bays.

Pretty much anywhere (other than Barbados) fits the bill in the Caribbean.
You know you can foil in waves too, right???

Ha, you can, but I'd rather be on a surfboard. Actually, here's the hierarchy:

1. Surf foil
2. Kite Surfboard
3. Surf
4. Kite foil

Kite foiling is nice and relaxing and was a good way to learn the foil for sup/surf foil, but it's lost a lot of it's luster for me.

I went to St Lucia 2005. On the south side. It was Terrible for TT, too little wind.. But yeah, foil would be great there. Its deep directly. Other thing that was bad there in 2005 was there wasn't any accommodations near the beach, the Cafe hut there took literally 2 hours to make a simple sandwich ( everyday!!) And the food in general was poor.

Been to Barbados. I loved that place! But the sargasso weed ruined the kiting.ended up sup surfing everyday instead.

Another good spot was Holbox in Mexico. Learned to foil there.

I spent a lot of time in StLucia last year.

There are/were hotels and short term rentals by the airport.
Nice local school too. Very friendly and helpful.

I’m bias since I rent my place over there but check Turks and Caicos. You need a 70-80 cm mast to fully enjoy the caicos bank even at low tide, but this is foil paradise for me.
The caicos bank is like km and km of swimming pool type playground. Turquoise water and sandy bottom.
The other side of the island (grace bay lagoon) is more like an aquarium... coral heads and turquoise water.

Anyway, I go there twice a year and usually kite between 12-14 days for a 14d trip. That is counting 1-2 days of scuba diving... just bring a 12m foil kite or an aluula kite and a foil with a big front wing.

If you live on the W coast of the US it's hard to beat the convenience of a quick flight to San Jose del Cabo and then 40 minutes to Los Barrilles, Baja California. I've traveled to both Mexico and a Caribbean and Mx is less costly. Bja season is Dec-April
