This modified treeclimbing harness has very wide leg straps and a rope bridge instead of a spreaderbar. It has a very low hook point and creates little torsion when riding switch.
There are buckles on the leg straps, which makes it easy to put it on when snowkiting.

Bending waist and walking are easy because there are no hard parts like a spreaderbar and the seat part is split in two.
Those leg straps look awesome. Brand of harness?

Thanks. I’ve seen that recommended a lot. Obviously rather expensive, but I had not noticed how great those leg straps are.

I have been using the Pat Love Two Go hybrid harness for many years now.
Its basically a waist harness with webbing and leg straps.
Best of both worlds IMO.
Its now called Pat Love Ace : https://dnasurf.com/da/produkt/pat-love ... surf-2021/

as the original poster, I am glad to see this revisited. i tried my old nitrous shorts with a slingshot slider and didn't really let me bend at waist very much,, then got dakine vega, with mystic rope slider,, same thing, the padding behind the bar part wont' let me bend. the only real reason i wanted to bend was to practice sitting and standing(from sitting). i don't want to spend a billion dollars to try the ozone and then not like it, plus it looks designed for a fixed point attachment vs a slider. has anyone hooked a slider up to it. the tree cutting harness,, well,,, i guess if you have one already, maybe, but sure looks heavy.

what about the air rush ak harness? not much mentioned on here about comfort level? was it all hype? once again, not going to buy one just to try,, after 20 years of kiting,, i have learned to not believe all the hype every year. how many times have i heard the latest 10m kite will let you kite in 3 mph wind

Did you try the Vega DLX from Dakine? Looks like you should have no issue bending at the waist?

i would sure like to, i've heard good things but with 2 kids in expensive schools, affordability is still a factor for me, plus, i still like to try a kite out before i buy one which is difficult where i am. i haven't seen an ocean rodeo kite around here in years. with covid, i have not been traveling much to kite.

i am currently using a dakine vega,, not sure if it is the deluxe or not. it's not the harness so much as the bar and pad in front. it seems like with a seat style harness, doing board offs and other things that require bringing knees up high to body, it just isn't as feasible, but waist harnesses and my back just do not get along.

do you know the diffence between vega and vega deluxe?

I wish there was a rope spreader bar that wasn't stiff and bulky. The seat harness is not what is limiting my movement, its the big solid block of plastic.

I used an old climbing harness when I started, but there is no solid way to attach a rope slider to it as the loops are in the middle.

Treeclimbing harnesses have a rope bridge.
