I have been using the Dakine Nitrous short harness for the last 15 years. The Nitrous just feels like your wearing a pair of shorts, they are very minimalist, and allow for full freedom of movement. Easy to bend, squat, and just move in general.
Agreed. Very popular around here. Many of us use it with a rope slider spreader bar... a perfect setup for foiling.
Sells for $130 US without spreader bar.

Reviving an old thread here because I’m curious what rope slider you use with the Nitrous shots. A couple months ago I picked up the Ion rope slider (their C-Bar, I believe) and I hate how wide it is compared with the slim Dakine hook spreader bar. It really limits my flexibility, which is how I ended up on this thread!

I've been using a Mystic Stealth bar without the back plate.

I use the Dakine hook spreader bar without the hook. It's very easy to cut the hook off the Dakine spreader with a hand-held hack saw or, better yet, an electric hack saw. I put 3 independently tied ropes across the bar so that if one breaks, I've got 2 backups (for less OCD types, 2 ropes is perfectly sufficient). I've used this set-up with Nitrous shorts previously, but now I'm using a Mystic seat. Easy solution.

I've been using this for a year kite foiling freestyle, boosting big air, etc.
You can hardly feel it on your body, very light and no movement restrictions at all. I did have the leg connection points re-enforced by kiteboarding.com at time of purchase.

Which Vega did you try?
Ion or dakine?
DIDN'T know there were others,,, it is the dakine.
Another vote for the Dakine Vega. Been in this seat harness now for 3 years. I moved my Ride Engine slider bar over to these and never been happier for foiling. But I don't boost.

Is that a typical service they provide? Seems like a very good convertible option. Do you use the spreader bar or just the stock webbing loop?

This modified treeclimbing harness has very wide leg straps and a rope bridge instead of a spreaderbar. It has a very low hook point and creates little torsion when riding switch.
There are buckles on the leg straps, which makes it easy to put it on when snowkiting.
Bending waist and walking are easy because there are no hard parts like a spreaderbar and the seat part is split in two.

Those leg straps look awesome. Brand of harness?

I just realized Ozone Kites and Kiteboarding.com have the exact same address in Portland, TX so I can easily understand some specialized services. Coincidentally, I learned to kite in Corpus Christi and after having a hard time with my cousin's rib harness I went and bought the Dakine shorts there.
