Yeah but I continue to get that feeling of the mast settling in, even though I tighten the mast screws very hard, you can actually feel it move when foiling, not sure what I am doing wrong, have cleaned all the tefgel off the mast screws

The screws might still not be tightened down enough. You are using the correct screws (there are now 3 different length screws availiable) and you are using the small washers, right?

I'm tightening them really hard and they make a creaking sound like it's tight enough. I went out today on my new 799/400/HS700/91cm mast and it was great but often I felt an adjustment, like when you don't wash the salt sometimes from the fuselage/mast connection and you feel an adjustment, I felt that loads today

I didn't know there were different lengths screws for the mast/fuselage. I have HS700, and the 647.
Masts I have 82/91/101.

What length should I be using?

The srcew is the 25mm and is too short. The HS700 should be fastened with the 30mm screws.

Argh ok, I was sold the wrong size screws M6 25mm with the HS700. I'll go and find some M6 30MM to use and hopefully that makes a difference.

Thanks Gunnar

SAB sent all the dealers 30mm screws to replace any that were delivered in the first batch of HS700 Fuselages. So you need to go talk to your dealer and get the right screws as they should have received them and contacted you about a month ago.

So just to clarify for the fuselages:
- 647 which I use with the 82/91/101 mast, I should continue using M6x20MM screws. https://sabfoil.com/en/products/kite-fu ... #datasheet
- HS700 which I use with the 82/91/101 mast, I should use only the M6x30MM screws. https://sabfoil.com/en/products/fuselag ... #datasheet

I'm not an engineer and haven't checked the lengths of thread sticking out the bottom of the fuselages but where does the extra 10MM of thread go? Is it that the HS700 is 10MM thicker?

I guess I should not use the M6x25MM screws for any fuselage?

A warning and disagree on not using the grease Moses includes. Stainless to stainless fasteners are subject to galling. Galling can absolutely seize the fastener inside the mast. I have seen this numerous times and really cranking on the fastener really increases the risk of this. You do not need to crank them down hard. A light coating of grease prevents it. I often have a slightly loose front screw but have never, over 100's of sessions ever had one back out or be lost. Reasonably firmly torqued is enough. Crank them really hard to creaking and you risk galling. I did get lucky when mine galled and was able to get it out.

I always use screwdriver-handle 5mm Allen and T30 to prevent over-tightening. Don’t want to extract inserts like teeth and/or strip thread with L-shaped key.
Left hand when I want even less torque.

Retighten front fuselage-mast screw after 1-2 sessions after each assembly.

20mm bolts for 647, 25mm bolts for 749/710. My older masts (91/101) take 25mm with 647 too, but I always check first. The new 82 mast and RDB 70/90 wouldn’t take those extra 5mm
