Sounds like an experiment that needs to happen ASAP.

PM me if you are game to be the test subject. :)

We'd love to set you up with a wing to find out!

One of the things that's appealing about the monowing concept is how much more compact it is. Conventional foil set ups are annoyingly awkward to handle with all those bits at right angles to each other: board, mast, fuselage, front wind, back wing. I can't be the only one who's regularly banging some part of the ensemble into something while carrying it. Makes me crazy.

You are right Flyboy!

I can throw a monowing in the back of my four door with a 95cm mast and 100cm pocket board all assembled. No more wasted time at my local spot with finding the right screw head, missing hardware, multiple screws, etc.

Super compact also for travel and airlines.

I use a (very compact) Kia Soul as my "kite car". With the back seats down my fully assembled foil board (not a monowing) fits neatly in the back on its side without protruding at all .

Hi,
I briefly tried the Triton wing yesterday - thank you Rudy for switching foils with me on the water!

I was expecting that I would need a few sessions to get used to it. To my amazement, I got up and rode right away! No serious adjustments were needed for me - I felt immediatelly at home on it. No stability issues - I even did a flying foot switch!

And I found that what they say about monowings is true - it has CRAZY LOW DRAG, almost as low as my FreeRace foil :D ! Turns on a dime too :thumb: .

My test was very short and on a strapless board (which I'm not used to). I'm looking forward to testing it with straps, so I can boost too 8)

Thanks Triton for the foil. Love the pizza box. Good way to make an impression. I attached the zeeko mast to the Triton foil and it just looked amazing from its simplicity. The foil was going onto a 110 wing board which isn’t my usual board as my 75 L was getting repaired.

With strong wind 26 knots plus with a 5 m wing. Once I hit the gust I was up and foiling. The foil needed a little more angle to get it out of the water. Once it was up I could feel the freedom and wanted to keep going. I did my first jibe but being 3 C didn’t want to attempt toe side yet.

I switch feet and started to pump the board. With strong wind, big waves I was pushed down wind and had to head down wind to the windsurfing club to save the day. It was a great experience and hope to share the progress but it will have to wait for another warmer day. It’s great to try something new and rise to a new challenge. Thanks Team Triton for the opportunity.

Great to see the T1 monowing out and about in Portugal rocking a low wind session.

Keep the videos coming. We are stoked to getting more T1s out to monowing pioneers like Manuel Gamito.

My question: is a light carbon mast the best thing for a mono wing? I imagine the mono wing floating around on its side indefinitely like a piece of wood. Maybe you need some weight in the mast to keep it "grounded"?

Took me some time to write my first impressions on the T1, but here we go…

Construction: the Wing is a solid product, well built with quality materials and attention to the details (no signs of imperfections or carbon fiber fabric distortions on any surfaces, great job). The kit arrived with q.ty 2 SS M8 bolts to connect the Monowing to the Mast and a hex wrench to complete installation.

Water test
Spot: Belmont Shore, Long Beach California
Wind Conditions: 9-13 knots
Kite: 2021 Duotone Mono 11m
Board: AR Custom Shapes 99cm
Mast: Aluminum Slingshot Hover Glide 90cm

Due to the local conditions my session lasted 1 hour and half which was just enough to get used to the setup and figure out some of the differences to my traditional Foils (I have been going through quite few setups in the past 3 seasons and currently owning a Armstrong A+ with several HS wings and stabs).

First notable feature is how drag-less it feels/rides: there is no resistance of the Monowing in the water in comparison to a traditional setup. On the three axis the T1 behavior is comparable to what every foiler is custom to but the yawn is definitely looser and more responsive to the rider inputs; this naturally translates into easy to handle/drive pivotal turns and extremely fast direction changes that are blast but needs anticipation on kite steering and sharper handling to fully enjoy the ride (at least for the larger size kites) Maneuverability is insane, it responded sharply and quickly to all the inputs providing confidence to ride it more aggressively after each tack and jibe. It lifts off the water easily and at low speeds but it is very fast too when charged with the kite in full power in the downwind legs.
The stance is definitely personal but I think the ideal/optimal for the Monowing is narrower than a traditional foil which should translate into an easier foot change and very comfortable starting point to push the limits on the free-riding style.

The T1 is definitely an amazing Foil which will feel like a breath of fresh air compared to what the majority of kitefoilers enthusiasts have been practicing since the beginning of the discipline.
These are my first impressions and I will try to follow up with more details once I will have few more hours of practicing.

Happy New Year fellow kiters!!!
