I've got to test the 7m Ultra Team in Feb and though the weight is interesting I don't think its the most important aspect of these new materials - what the materials allow the kite to do performance wise is the real key.

Super narrow leading edge on a kite which you can pump to really high PSI's. I spoke with Clinton Filen who is Airush MD and what he said was that the Hookipa material allows high PSI's for the lifetime of the kite (ie. you can pump normal kites to higher psi's but don't expect them to handle that pressure for years of use). Anyway, that small leading edge and high psi means you get a kite that is super rigid and accelerates super fast. Turns on a dime and felt like a stunt kite. Clinton also said that what he likes about the hookipa material is that because it's woven, it still allows the material to twist. So you can have the high psi and a rigid structure BUT still allow the kite to twist in the way you need it to.

So yeah lighter kites are nice (especially on bigger sizes) but its not what I think you'll notice the most when using kites with these new materials.

Good to hear! Acceleration and quick turning is exactly what I’m looking for.

On durability, doesn’t canopy stretch diminish the performance of the kite before the advertised durability of new materials like hookipa and aluula?

I understand that the kevlar strips sewn through the canopy in the Airush kites are intended to stop/reduce this stretch. Interesting to see that they have dropped that feature for the Lithium but looks like it is still in the Ultra.

Estimated weight in kg: 10m-2,12; 12m-2,39
If that's true, it's seems a bit heavier than Aluula, while the Aluula Flite is 3 strut and the Ultra is single strut. Not saying this means much, it's still excellent news that new materials are being brought out...

It is really sikening how we accept the fact that manufacturers dont make weight of their produts easily avaliable.
We should revolt, and not buy…kkk
It is like having HP on a car…and not nowing the HP/Weight Ratio…
PLEASE…Hydrofoil Specific kites MUST inform weight per size

my understanding is that the lithium dropped airframe to reduce cost as the airframe is expensive to manufacture.

The prices I've seen show that the Ultra team is much cheaper than Aluula, but still more than your typical Ultra of course.

It seems that Airush is facing some bottleneck problems.
The Ultra was supposed to be on the market by now.
