Can someone share the weight of the alu V2 85cm mast/plate/fuselage set? I can not find this information on their website. I am trying to compare it to the 85 monoblock which is 2400g according to Gong. Thanks!

What comes next?

I have the X-Over XXL for Winging, but after a few sessions, I think I need a new front wing that transfers the wind energy into more speed. The X-Over seems to hit his speed limit and causes too many holding forces from the wing.

What is the next logical progression if I want to

a) replace the wing and do not want to lose much low end
b) use it as an addition to the x-over

?

Thanks :)

I think the answer to that is provided by Gong's own information. X-Over - Curve - Fluid - Veloce in terms of greater speed/glide. I would consider the Curve or the Fluid. The Curve would provide more tuning sensitivity, while the Fluid would provide more glide, so it depends a bit on what kind of winging you think you are going to be focused on.

FYI: I was complaining about too much front pressure using the veloce M and the fast stab (small). Now I switched to the veloce stab (small) and front pressure is much less. Way bettet than before.
Fast stab is flat and veloce stab is bent down slightly, hence the difference.

But the new stab whistles like hell. I have to ride real fast to make it disappear. Need to sand the trailing edge a little bit.

IMO the veloce combo feels buch better balanced than veloce with fast stab :)

Interesting. But what does it all mean? The Veloce stab being turned down creates less upward lift & counteracts the lift of the front wing? I switched from the the Curve stab (which is angled down) to the Fast stab (which is flat) with my Curve M & found the Fast stab created significantly less drag. I didn't really notice a change in front foot pressure.

Are you all ready? :thumb:

Go checkout https://www.gong-galaxy.com for the big news!

New fuselage PRO either in Aluminium or Titanium
PRO stabs Veloce-H and Fluid-H
Adapter to use older stabs on the new fuselage

They look amazing.

Also... if you look closely, you'll find "lengtheners" for both the front and back of the fuselage to make the foils more stable, or to use them with Windfoiling.

Interesting - and needed - the old fuse is way over-dimensioned at the stab end. (I have even considered drilling out big holes in the rear of the fule and filling them with foam)

Would the new fuse work with the old stabs an ultra-short fuse? Might be fun to try (EUR60)

I wonder what the overall weight saving will be.

What is the point of the titanium version? It looks to be the same size as the Ali one which is surely way over-dimensioned and heavy. I would have expected a titanium fuse to be be ultra slim...

No wind today so...
Just done an estimate based on scaling the images from the gong website.
Comes out at ~433g saving between new short fuse (Al) and standard V2 (Al). ie short is 54% weight of standard.

I wonder when they will they bring out a short fuse version of the Monobloc masts. That could be a nice setup with the new stabs?
