That's true, they might still have a lot of monobloc masts in stock too. I think with the new stabs and fuse the weight difference is not too much and I can take it apart for traveling. I'll weigh it when the new stabs arrive. I think both mast are a nice piece of kit, especially for the price.
It's not just that they "have a lot of mono bloc masts in stock" - it seems to me that Gong continues to produce their "older" products, because they are periodically listed as "out of stock" and then become re-available, which suggests they manufacture more of them. The mono blocs are a great products - simple, stiff and light. The only downside is they are more awkward to fly with as they have a wider foot print.

Out of curiosity - how many of you travel with your foils?
I never do, only with waveboards for huge waves and wind.
Kitefoil is something I can do every day

Are you asking about the wider foot print? What I mean is that the mono bloc mast has the fuselage at right angles to the mast, so you have to accommodate not only the length of the mast but also the width of the fuselage in the travel bag. My 85cm Gong mono bloc does - barely - fit in my "golf bag", but the fuselage presses against the inside of the bag making it potentially vulnerable to damage in transit. The mono bloc mast comes in a travel case that I modified (by carving out some of the packing) to fit the front wing & the stab as well as the mast, plus four Peak4 kites & a bar.

Spent 10 weeks at Cabarete this winter. Spent 95% of the time on my foil. Wind was typically in the 12 - 18 knot range. 5 sessions with my SB & an 8m kite when the winds were up over 20 knots & there was a good swell coming in. Foiling has changed the equation for me - more fun foiling in the waves unless the conditions are really good for a SB.

Live just at the center of Denmark.
Around Århus, and in close vicinity we can ride in all wind directions

I go to Cuba a few times a year during the winter the wind is never guaranteed but you can almost always foil so I bring a foil if the forecast is light. I prefer boosting in the flatwater spot but foiling in warm water and super steady wind is still a great experience much better than sitting on the beach and drinking yourself to death like many at the resorts do..

Where do you stay in Cuba? Love the island in precovid times. Now I can't travel there until this globalist madness finishes. Never foiled there though.

I have been all over 30 times so far. Most of the times it's Cayo Coco at the Pullman hotel or Cayo Guillermo I have done all hotels on the kiting spot. Both great flatwater locations and you can foil too. The Valentin in Santa Maria is also great and Santa Lucia is a nice spot too but a lot less flights now. If it's windy it's hard to beat very safe you can leave your gear on the beach and go for lunch you walk 2 minutes to the beach and for us it's a 3.5 hour direct flight.

As title, I'm roughly 80kg and kite foil regularly and and fit and sporty.
Just got some wing gear. Never done it before. 120 litre board. 5m wing and just need a big front wing for my 65 V1 mast.
Do you guys think I could progress on a Gong Veloce XL and I can use it to dock start and wing?
Should I get the Curve XLT for small surf sessions, wing, and dock starts instead of the Veloce XL?
Any feedback and real world tips appreciated.

If you’re undecided between a curve and veloce, why not go with a Fluid?
Depending on your wind conditions you may want to consider an XXL, to learn on. Lighter winds, less chop/waves, slower and longer glides.
I’m about 75kg. Learnt on x-over xl. Then got fluid xl & xxl. I found everything so much easier on the fluid xxl (long forgiving glides when fumbling about with the wing). If there is decent wind (>15knots ) the fluid xl is now my go to wing.
One other thing is you may find a v1 mast a bit flexi for winging. V2 is way stiffer/better. Maybe v1 in 65cm is ok - I’ve not used anything that short.
