Very poor photoshop at that! The last photo is a complete joke. It must be the new Sentinel 48.0 bar (representing the number of flying lines...) Very odd

Just noticed that! Smartphone camera artifact; it can do weird things at zoom.

This model potentially on the horizon is keeping me from picking up a used quiver of UFOs. I really enjoyed demoing the current models, and this would likely push me over the edge. Robby was practicing around the worlds close to shore and it's wild seeing any kite just fall out of the sky like that repeatedly.

The hot question is, how many Ocean Rodeo kites did they have to dissassemble to get the material? :)

The current UFO is already very light. I don't feel it is really needed for the smaller sizes such as my favourite 5m which needs wind anyway.

Perhaps more of a gain for the 7 and 9m but if I can't fly the UFO 5m I'm on a 9m foil kite. Never used the UFO 7m since then.

5m UFO and 9m Foil kite is a great quiver choice!. 5m UFO is Hyperlink-light but it is not Peak light and there is a reason people rave about Peak and other single skins.

Small kites absolutely benefit from lighter weight when foiling on waves. I had a super fun 5m UFO session earlier this week in shoulder to head windswell shore break. When riding the wave I kept slacking the lines and as the kite fell the lines would lay on the water in front of me. Turning upwind would bring the kite back to the air.

Single skins (I have used Peak and Marabou) are superior for their light weight until you get to this kite falling point and then the lack of structure may cause a problem.

Dropping 250-500 grams from a 5m UFO would offer a huge benefit and I would be in for a 5m.

I'm entirely opposite, the more Aluula is used, the higher volumes produced, the sooner we'll see economy of scale kick in and prices will come down.

One thing I see in the last year or so is that prices do NOT come down :)

I feel like saying dream on Greg. The kite industry is pretty small to build much in terms of scale. Maybe if Aluula is used to make say fast fashion clothing we'll get some scale ... Dress some celebrity in Aluula at the Grammys or Oscars ...
