That's really interesting! Thanks for the link. It really does look like a 633 wing. I wonder if the engineers started with that.

Sorry, I can not see any connection between isochronus curves and hydrofoils?
Except for some having a similar look, but properties are not relevant nor linked IMO.
But shape resemblance, good observation

Interesting point.
I agree with Frank, as time response because of gravitation does not apply directly on the hydrodynamics of the shape in this case.
I googeled a bit regarding the cycloide wing shapes and found some possible resemblance/comparison with the
wings of bugs.
Their wings, are opposite to hydrofoil wings
Generally their leading edge top view is straight, while the trailing edge is curved.

If bugs had to fly through seaweed they’d be evolving their wings to be arrowhead shaped. Damn seaweed

In Madison they have floating combine cutting and picking that crap! But even small strains floating in water accumulate on straight(er) leading edge and kill lift
