I use the Dakine traveling hook on a waist harness. It works great for me, but too bad it’s discontinued. I much prefer the a rope to a fixed hook for foiling because of the better toeside angles and more open hips.

Waist because I'm not loading it up like the racers. I've used a waist for a couple of years and never once regretted it. Even ditched the pull down strap and it's fine.

Dynabar because that's what I've had for ages, but the bar pad is getting shredded, so I might be moving on :( probably Mystic Stealth spreader... Don't use the bungy anymore because working hard to go maximum upwind on toe side would pull it out of its seat on the spreader bar.

I've never had issues with it moving around, after the initial phase of getting used to it moving at all. I tried the "put it through the second loop" trick to stop the hook sliding but allow freedom of movement (like a Fireball) but found it limiting on the hydrofoil, especially toe side.

I'm riding the stealth spreader bar with the ability for it to be fixed or for it to slide. I just pop the loop out to slide while I'm foiling or surfing, or pop it back in for a fixed point if I'm twin tipping and boosting.
Same for me it's great you can do both!
Honestly so useful, not sure why I didn't realize this earlier. I hated switching out spreader bars for sessions.

For hydrofoiling I'm super comfortable in an Ozone Connect backcountry - https://ozonekites.com/harnesses/snowki ... ountry-v2/

Comfy small low waist belt with a pair of simple leg straps that keep the kite's pull low. Straps are all very easy to adjust on the water while riding. Only minor down-side is having to open up the chicken loop ( safety release ) to pass it through the central webbing attachment point, similar to connecting to a rope slider.

Similar to tkaraszewski and jyoder.
Dakine C1 harness. Spreader bar hook cut off.
I use 2 single pigtails with a single ring (redundancy not length). Maybe an inch longer then Jyoders
Never going back

i forgot to put my rope slider harness on yesterday and ended up using my fixed hook harness for a foiling session, the inability to turn hard upwind and lock down for speed and good high angle into wind was very frustrating, same for toeside riding , it was not letting me push high upwind , horrible experience!

I use the DaKine Vega seat harness with the Option bar. I've gone back to using it in the fixed hook position which works better for me than when it's sliding.

My wish list: a lightweight construction like the AK Ether harness, but in the form factor of the Ozone connect back country, but with a bar and slider rope.

Disclaimer: not seen either of these harnesses IRL, so this is just speculation on what I would like...

Got the new Rideengine Lyte waist harness recently.
Super light weight (harness without plate weights 1,400 grams) and still almost as comfortable as the elite carbon version. It has very little water uptake, hence dries very fast.
I use a rope slider with the infexion seat-belt QR. Very satisfied.

I also thought about getting the AK Ether, but wasn´t sure if I´d like the very soft nature of it (no chance to try it somewhere before purchase). The rideengine lyte is a good compromise for those who like the hard shell type of harness.
