GJibb, what does that setup do for you?
One thing it does, and one of the reasons I am looking to do something similar, is it allows you to swap your bar between a harness with a slider bar and one with a "hook" without having to put the donkey dick back on the bar. I have a slider spreader and a regular hook spreader and I want to be able to seamlessly switch between them without modifying my bar.

GJibb, what does that setup do for you? A traditional rope slider can transfer the pull of the kite from one side of the rider's body to the other. So, for example, if you're riding toeside with a rope slider, you feel the pull of the kite on your upwind hip.
Your setup doesn't really do that. It seems to be more of an extension of the center lines of the kite. It maintains the pull of the kite at your midsection/navel (i.e., at the center of the spreader bar). I guess I'm not understanding the difference between your setup and a traditional spreader bar hook and chicken loop (except the center lines are a bit longer).
Its a non proprietary Fireball.
Its is actually shorter then the standard Dakine hooks, but not by much. Doesnt come across that way in the picture I guess.
It also didnt cost me anything other then some old pigtails.

Dakine Option Spreader bar. I looked for ages before giving up and making what I have
