I'm riding the stealth spreader bar with the ability for it to be fixed or for it to slide. I just pop the loop out to slide while I'm foiling or surfing, or pop it back in for a fixed point if I'm twin tipping and boosting.
Same for me it's great you can do both!

I've left the original metal ring in order to keep the fixed option but I also have a Majestic waist harness with hook dedicated for boosting on TT.

Other, but not a fireball (hell no!)

I'm using the HB Legacy waist harness. It's essentially a pivoting hook that removes all of the leverage of the hook, but the tow point stays centered, so that you don't get unexpected swings during jumps and turns. It allows unhooking too, and being a hook, works with typical chicken loops, so that you can use your mates gear, and share yours (unlike fireballs).

I tried a rope slider for a couple of foiling sessions but I found it much harder to to complete roll and heel toe tacks. The slider would move in the middle of the transition and screw up my timing. Is this normal and something I will get used to or are rope sliders not great for tacks, I don’t see racers using them.

Same reason I never rode rope slider more than once. Slips during tacks..

When I started to use a home made fixed rope slider
I could lay on my board or pull it to my belly , to help light wind water starts
And without that 4 inch hook I got better throw

Good to hear I am not alone, a few others feel the same.

Looking at the numbers almost everyone ride with a slider.

I also hate that it can slide during transitions, so using a std hook now.
Also a lot faster in/out on land.
On a hydrofoil you hardly never ride straight, and I dislike the sloppy feel not knowing which point your power will be located as it suddenly moves.

With my low body flexibility I should in theory love a slider, but i don't, such a wushy feel
And I don't need more throw, at least not towards me, as I ride with bar a bit away from me for more freedom when turning.

I use a seat and a sliding hook on a rope.. it's not in the list.. (so I can share kites with my son on a waist and fixed hook)
I love to ride toeside, so much more freedom of body movement with a slider.
You get used to the loose feeling and the sliding feeling.
I now have re-attached a bungee so the sliding hook points up when unhooked (so I can hook in and out with my wing as well) it dempens the sliding a bit to so you don't get the sudden slide.. I don't even feel its a sliding hook anymore..
It's a Dynabar sliding hook system, best made ever. its a pitty its gone.

I've had to do a google search to figure out this system :)

interesting concept... the bungee recovers the centered position when there's some slack in the lines

yes thats the system.
I use the hook on a slider rope.
Did use it before on the steel slider, is ok too. there were 2 steel gliders included, one like on the picture and one with a center curve in it which keeps it more centered.. but then it suddenly slide out of it.. i didn't like it.
I now use the hook on a different slider rope from Prolimit.
The slider from Dynabar is better then the Prolimits. it has more sliding space.
