Be aware that a zinc sacrificial anode only works while your foil is immersed in salt water. Alpine Foil has had these on their aluminum fuselages for years now and we still see corrosion if they are not rinsed with fresh water after every use. Frankly I think the zinc anode is a somewhat of a sales gimmick that implies a false promise of eliminating corrosion.

Personally I rinse my aluminum fuselage with fresh water after every session.. and of course I grease my stainless steel screws every couple of months.

And I will try to avoid any more aluminum parts in my hydrofoil future purchases.

leaving the base plate on for long periods like i did, and not clean water washing the connection like i sometimes forgot to do for 6 weeks, along with leaving attached to the board for 6 weeks has spoiled the nice new shiny look of my base plate, but having that single QR pin now will help stop that happening to my new base plate, as it is so easy to pop off the mast, leaving the base plate in place on the board, and splashing with clean water before placing in the car, and I just noticed the second base plate is not the same, its got a much different finish applied, not gloss black but a rather more hammerite looking finish, not smooth, looks more durable, I was not warned about that happening, maybe this is to stop the finish being spoilt by salt water, mmmmm? i will start using my new base plate from today.

i will be taking close up pics of my old base plate this week and take a view of asking for it to be replaced if the new one proves to be salt water proof,

So now you need to carry the whole bloody board over to the tap to rinse the base plate. Or just detach it like the old system and take it for rinsing, except the old system didn’t need rinsing. Sounds like a down graded system rather than an upgrade.
Good luck with the warranty, Sabfoil will probably say you should have removed the base plate for rinsing.

brilliant, mines ordered,
the cast aluminium base plate is much better than the milled one, its lighter by a bit, and 2 weeks in used nearly every day and its all good, but properly washed every session, the carbon one is very light, and needs no washing,
i wish the carbon one came out when i bought my masts.the upside is i will have spares, the downside is no one will want the metal base plates and my bank balance is taking another hit to buy the carbon plates

Hey

I have trubel choosing the right fuselage size from the Kraken range.
I want to buy the race Setup (671 with 399 wings and 103 mast.
Bot i am between the 604 or 654 fuselage.
I ride freeride race style with jumping. No waves or stuff like that.
The 654 would be more stable bot more heavy as well. The 604 would be the same size i got now, just in the ika setup

Any Tips?
Thanks
