I had a dream - hydrofoil trick

Postby Toby » Sun Jun 26, 2022 6:52 pm

wow, what a trick I dreamed off...maybe someone can pull it off !

A friend of mine entered the water...got full speed, and did a fast Backroll and landed sitting on the board...and the board was above the water...it looked amazing !

So I am wondering if anyone can pull it off, as you have to be unbelievable fast.

Don't forget, for me a Backroll is a real Backroll, not a Back 360 rotation, which almost everyone gets wrong.

With a Backroll the kite keeps flying forward, therefore you have more speed.

See here the difference:

Backroll: https://strictlyhooked.com/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=7

Back 360: https://strictlyhooked.com/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=14

Anyone?

Not sure how feasible it is without kite lift and if anyone with enough skill would even care to try.
It is already badass if you can do it with some kite lift and without the added risks that come with higher forward momentum.
Also, it probably needs to be strapless and that sorta makes it look very different from what you would on a twintip anyway.

Fore entertainment purposes something along similar lines (jump rotation into sitting) I hit browsing youtube:

It's similar, but should be much faster.
Can be strapless or with straps
