Do all carbon mast do this?

Postby drone » Sat Jul 16, 2022 10:32 am

I rode aluminium masts for some years, for me such behavior are total disappointment 😂.
Considering to switch back to aluminium mast.

There is not enough carbon on the +/- 45-deg ; to hold
the torsional stability.
You could wrap 1 layer of 3k plain weave carbon , at a 45 ; that would
stiffen it up nicely , without adding a tun of weight.

What mast is that drone?

Sabfoil masts seem very solid. I thought they copied it for SS but apparently not. I've seen some very flexy windfoil masts too, sabfoil windfoil mast is rock solid.

I’m curious what generation that is- they came out with stiffer carbon masts this year.

Agreed, the Cedrus mast is really good. My 2018 Lift mast vibrates more than the video.

You might not need the ultimate (with the ultimate price tag) but it's available
