I'm looking for a 12m that can do a bit of everything. At my weight and local wind conditions a 12m takes most of my sessions. I twin tip and like boosting but I have been foiling lately and i wanted a kite that can use until the wind picks up on the foil and switch over to twin tip and have fun boosting.
I have access to a great deal on a 12 Rise or Roam in Alula material. Given the description above which one of the 2 would fit my bill better.
Eventually the goal is to jump in the foil as well.
Thank you
G

I will let you know what I think of 12m rise in a couple of months. I bought it exactly for your use case.
It’s winter down here in Australia so won’t get to try it, until it warms up a bit.
Currently use a 10m roam Aluula and a Dacron flite 14.5m. I Use the 10m roam on the foil, then switch to the 14.5m flite on TT. When it picks up.
Hoping the 12m rise be a one kite, do it all kite.
The roam is not a boosting kite. No float, drops you like a stone. But is gold on the foil.

Thank you, the hope is that the rise be decent on the foil.

Haven’t flown either of these but have been foiling for 2 seasons now. I think it depends on how you want to foil. If you want to foil like a twintip rider, then the Rise will work great. If you want to foil like a surfer, then you’ll want the Roam. Since you mentioned only foiling until there’s enough wind to TT and you want to jump, it sounds like the Rise is for you.

I haven't flown the Rise or Roam in 12m but had a great session on a 10m Rise in 30 knots and did some foiling on a 9m Rise and a 10m Roam.
Bottom line: your priority is boosting so get the Rise. The Roam is by far a better kite for foiling but the Rise will make do. Alternatively think about the 12m flite.
I've used it on TT and foil for multiple sessions and it fits what you're searching for. The Rise is a bit more technical to use and excels in the upper wind range compared to the Flite.
For foiling you want a kite that can loop fast with little power so Roam > Flite > Rise. For TT it's generally the other way round. Flite sits in the middle as you can see.
