If you wanted to save some real money you could buy a standard foil and a quiver of kites / wings instead. :thumb:

Lift warranties the board for 2 years, the battery for one year (or 300 cycles).
IMO, short board and longer mast are the way to go. A longer board is beneficial during learning (larger, more stable when not flying the foil), but once flying, the increased weight makes steering ( and corrections) slower. Shorter and lighter= better control.
The board is less of a factor in the 'sports car' vs 'SUV' than your wing selection.
For 'sports car' sessions I ride a 170ha /33carve...I will change to my 200ha/38 when I want to cruse or practice fly foot switches.
In my group of Lift foiler's, we have 9 boards and 12 batteries, the oldest kit is three years old, no problems with any components, the oldest battery only charges to 90%.

I believe warranty is for two years. 3f comes in 5’4” and it’s plenty big. 3f has an option to come with large battery. The only thing you might be missing is 32” mast which is $1800 value on its own. Given folks sell 28” mast for $1200 and 32” costs $3k
It is 2 years....As of Jan 1 2022. That's another plus for Lift.

Thanks...I think as of Jan 1 2022 they warranty the batteries for 2 years also. I saw that on Houston Kiteboarding website.

I would if we had consistent wind. Sketchy gusty winds are enough of a challenge on my TT without trying to learn foiling at the same time. Actually, I have a Slingshot foil board that I bought mostly to learn wake foiling behind the boat then transition to the kite.

What's your purpose behind the e-foil? I like the look of the Australian 'Foil Drive' system. Mainly because I think the idea of riding swell is more fun than the idea of just blasting up and down the coast like you might on a jetski.
Mostly just flat water. Maybe ocean swells or chasing the ferry wake now and then. Probably some inland lakes when we travel. I'm looking for stable and easy to ride. I don't really care about turning speed or responsiveness. Slow and stable works for me. The reason for an efoil is to fill the gap when nothing else is really usable (no wind) or when traveling. Easier to take the efoil than my collection of kite gear.

Once you have learned, you can kitefoil in 5-7 knots with a 10-12 m2 good foilkite :thumb:

6 knots happens quite often in most places

Thanks for correcting me! I had not seen the change to two years on the battery!!
I also bought an Efoil for the windless and marginal days; however now I am efoiling in all conditions...
I started kiting 'only on the days when I can't windsurf'..stopped windsurfing.
I started kitefoiling "only on the days when I can't kiteboard'...stopped kiteboarding (except side off waves)
I started efoiling "only on the flat days'...was blowing 12-15kn today...went efoiling!

The efoil is pretty addictive. The feeling when the board leaves the water is amazing. They would be all over the place if they weren't so expensive. I would imagine price point is a barrier for most people. I'll probably buy a small kite, 7m or 9m single strut over the winter and take up kite foiling on my existing Slingshot board next year after I get good on the efoil. Still trying to figure out board and foil. The Lift 5'4 is a sinker board with my weight. The 5'9 should hold me a little better and plane off at a lower speed. Waiting on a response from Lift on whether the more draggy 300 wing will eat batteries faster than the 250 wing. Intuition tells me that more drag must equate to shorter battery life, but how much shorter. They claim the 300 is still pretty efficient. The 300 is still smaller than my Slingshot foil.

My primary concern is battery life. If the 300 wing knocks 20 minutes off my run time, I would go with the 250. If there is no difference I would rather have the 300. It might be better for getting the wife and friends hooked on it also.

Lift 3f 4’9” with 32” mast, 200surfv2/38 wing set and full battery weigh 72 lbs.
When I lay on the board it floats, if I try to get on my knees without pushing throttle it obviously sinks. Yet when I got onto 4’4” is also floated just fine.
