What's the smallest kite you are able to use in light/moderate wind?

I got a Cloud quiver earlier this summer when I decided to start learning how to kitefoil. I got sizes 2.8, 3.7, 4.8, and 6.2. I use a SABFoil 633 wing. My weight=73 kg. So far I have used the 4.8M the most. It seems to be ideal in the 15-20 knot range. I use the 6.2 the second most. I have used the 3.7 just a couple of times (in 20+ knots). I have not used the 2.8M at all. Wondering when or if I will ever find a use for the 2.8M? When I get more experienced, will I be able to use the 2.8M in mild/moderate conditions (under 20 knots?). What's the smallest kite you use in these winds?

I'm asking because I'll be traveling to Mérida, Mexico in the fall/winter and wondering whether I should just leave the 2.8M behind. At the nearby beaches from what I read I can expect the wind to be 10-25 knots.

On the 633 I can use the 2.8 from 16 knots, I’m 80 kg. No you won’t have the lift through tacks but it’s fast and a really fun kite.
I have cloud sizes 2.8-8mtr, there is plenty of overlap between the sizes though each size has its sweet spot and they don’t like being overpowered. The sweet spot for the 2.8 is 20-25knots on 20mtr lines, that’s for me, others may find differently.

I have BRM 4.8, 6.2, 8 and 10.4 me 76kg
To maximise the range I use the lightest, 30m thin race lines I can buy. Not recommended for surf incase the kite is dropped.
Race lines have way less drag and even on 30m lines are still very responsive and turn fast. I mainly use the 6.2 and 8m.
In high wind maybe use standard lines for the smaller kites but I windwing then.

Not sure that anyone ever answered the OP’s original question? I’m curious to know this answer as well. So far, I’ve had one occasion to use an OR Prodigy 7m (definitely NOT the best option for lightwind foiling) and was plenty fine riding in 12 knots. I think I could’ve gotten lower, but haven’t had a chance to try yet. So, what IS the smallest kite you’re able to foil in light winds? For reference, btw, I’m about 205 pies (93 kg).

Rode 2.5 Ghost. Not my favorite for sure.
Also 633 is a monster slow wing which I ditched to ride 683s (aka 679) being at 205-210 lbs back in 2019
I’d rather take a larger kite like 4-5m and ride a faster wing

Now I’m riding 5m in whitecaps+ conditions, 4m comes handy in ~30 and more.

For most riders i think the 2.8m will be used 25kts and up. For me at 75kg and foiling, it would be 30kts and up for the 2.8m. With tiny kites I dont like them to be under powered.

I would take it. Merida/progreso can have days of 30+ often

And it's so small you can just take it in your pocket lol

At 65kg mainly with SABfoil 679 and 800 wings I have a 3 kite quiver, 2.5m, 4m and 5m Peak5. So 5m is my light wind kite starting around 8 knots, over 12 knots 4m fun begins and 16 knots I can use the 2.5m.

Using lightweight small kites is incredibly addictive as they can move as fast as you can think so the kite is almost an extension of your body. The speed of a small single skin kite like the Peak gives you instant response and power/depower even though there's not the torque-y grunt of a larger conventional kite. I'm often the last person foiling if the wind dies. Love the drift of the Peaks for riding any waves/swell/chop downwind where pumping the foil may be needed to catch the next bit of wave as the Peak drifts with very little power as you head way too much downwind

I’ll reiterate what Sendit said. The question was smallest kite in light/moderate winds. 10m SlingShot Wave 8-13kts with a Moses633, <7kts kite falls out of the sky
