Postby Saski » Mon Aug 21, 2023 10:30 am

Hello. is there anyone who has tested different setups for a 633 sabfoil. Thought different fuselage lengths and other stabilizers?

Stabs can make a huge difference.
IIRC I have 483 and 399 and it’s a totally different experience.

No experience with different fuselage lengths.

It’s not my primary foil, but I have ridden 633 with S450, S483, and S420. With 450 it’s sluggish but stable, 483 only slightly more lively, and 420 quite a bit looser but still quite easy. I bet it’d be fun on the S330…

I'd like to know what effect the different length fuses have on the ride. I'm in the process of upgrading my original 633/onda setup to the kracken and stuck on which fuse to get. Plan on drilling my front wing for the T8.

Some pro kitefoilers said that the difference isnt big with fuses. So they took the smallest for most compact setup.

I do not have direct experience but largest Sab sales rep in my country recommended me this pair for fun with jumping when I posted Surfr result with that day used 633-483 combo. Many of his team riders prefer(red) this combo if 633 is your front wing to use.

At the same time he mentioned that 399 does not make a good pair with 699 which he prefers for jumping over 633, 699 works like a dream with 430 according to his preference. With writing this I mean that 399 might not be ultimate "use it with all front wings" -stab.

I did not ask him why he prefers 399 with 633. Tracking? Looseness? Foot pressure or top speed? Or just overall feeling?

Have stabs with 633:
483 to much lift, but can be used in very light wind well.
330 nice feeling, but 425 (old) is the best of best of course, live, fast and stable, also using in low winds too.
As i know all have complains on 450 stabs but i don’t have it.

I use the Phantasm 325 stab with the Moses 633, with a Phantasm 710mm fuse. It is much more agile than the 483 and 450 stabs I have tried. And it eliminates the increased front foot pressure at speed.
Fuse length affects mainly pitch stability when the stab to mast distance changes. But the Phantasm fuses size affect at the front wing to mast distance. The 633 doesn't work well with the shorter Phantasm 653mm fuse. The lifting point goes way too far backward and makes you ride with both feet at the back end of the board.
