Nice and simple set.

But... don´t feel the need for a flag-out line? It looks like a quite short depower...

1) I have alligator arms. This is about as far as I can reach even with the tight QR and a seat harness.
2) I’m only running these bars on smaller kites, and particularly peaks and hybrids. While the hybrid could blow away downwind, the peaks will collapse quickly.
3) I do have a couple bars with a flagout line for larger kites.

Edit to add: this also still has the back line trim so at least initially I have the option to trim it if the throw is not in the right place for the conditions.

I was curious. Amen.

I´m getting ideas for a new bar for UFOs 4-5-7 and it´ll be a cleatless Infexion Max V3 bar for sure, but I´m not a fan of PU covers for depower and flagout line (which I definitely want), so I´ll go for naked dyneema.

I think I´ll add a flagout with a ring and a stopper ball to your setup.

I often use my non-flagout bar for Cloud 3.7m and 4.8m. Higher than that and I prefer a flagout. This is a cheap and light one if you are in the US. You need to add a stopper ball and a bungee.

We do now have the option of a 5mm Pu tube or dyneema covered depower cord with a simple stopper out of two 3x15mm rings ans a flagout line without cover:

Hi, Evan,

Yes, that´s what I want.

I´ve got my order ready in the cart, but since I don´t need lines and felt a bit puzzled when choosing the different options, I´m sending an e-mail to you so you can check before I place my order, If you don´t mind.

Cheers,

Evan, I saw that but didn’t quite understand it. Do the two rings slide along the dyneema to act as a stopper? I know what you are going to answer here, but does it work?! Do you like that method better than a knot or a stopper ball?

Wow.

Is this PU Tube 3x5mm or 5x8mm?

How long did you test this? If your 5mm PU tube can take this for more than 1 year, do you sell the tube? Or can you give the source? I tried to use 3x5mm PU tube for depower on my bar, but it did not last more than a few sessions, always broke. Just from winding/packing, no tight bends as in your picture. Seems to be very good quality if it can take it? Or is it 5x8mm? That I use now and it lasts very long.

The material used on the core bars is the best, it is 2mm x 5mm it is not ptfe/teflon, but I do not know what, maybe kind of nylon, pretty flexible no kinks, always comes back into shape.

Have used a modified Cable Wartel in the past just remove the tread, so when bar pushes it compresses the conical shaped end.

It's just a stopper, as simple as it can be without any tools needed to adjust. It doesn't slide at all, so you to adjust the height on the beach.

@smeagle
It's indeed just 3x5mm PU. Must be a pretty crappy batch if it cracks from tight bends. Only seen that happen on old bars from other brands that had seen a lot of UV. Mine are nothing special, just pneumatic PU hoses that you can find everywhere. There is some small variation in softness between different manufacturers, but none I ordered did come close to cracking.
