UFO v2 6m or 7m

Postby Robstar » Mon Oct 23, 2023 3:45 pm

I have a 4m and 5m v2 , and will only have a 10m alpha,
After I sell a 6 and 7 one strut . The question I have is, would you go for the 6 meter or 7m to fill the gap ?
I Kite foil only now.
Thanks in advance 🙏

I think based on the feedback from the other thread, a 7sqm would make sense in your quiver.

At least I just bought the 5 and 7 sqm ;-)

I’d say 7 or 8m depending where you ride. 4/5/8 is a nice quiver

I’d be concerned the 8m UFO would have quite a bit of overlap with the 10m one-strut so I’d go 4m, 5m, 7m. 5-7 is a good jump, 5-6 is unnecessary.

I'll have to disagree. If I could only have 3 sizes, it would be 4, 5, 6 here in the Gorge. The 6 is a lot more fun than the 7, and has significantly better low end than the 5. If you need a light wind kite, add an 8 or a 9. If you need ultra light wind, add the 11. Get winds > 30 mph? Get a 3m.

Fair, Fred and Robby are regularly out ripping on their 6s. But he will have 4, 5, 10. Would the 6 cover enough of that gap for you.

Thanks ! Still undecided 😫
Roughly speaking, would use the 3m in 25+ knots
4m 21 to 25
5m 17 to 20
10m alpha 10 to 13 ish
Don’t want 6 kites !!
Any more thoughts from ufo users 🙏

A 6m is the most allround kite size for cruisy free ride and wave foiling in ideal foil conditions. (basically were twintips with large kites can fly, but are doing their walks of shame).

If to select 1 kite size, I would pick that, most fun most avarage usage, widest envelope.
