Riding your foil as low as possible also helps, less turbulence….

I take this question to mean: how to get past the breaking waves near shore when in onshore conditions?

You might find footstraps helpful. Bodydrag out, find a hole to get going. Go slow and if you don't like what you see- backcheck into the wave and keep the foil out of the water if possible. Then restart. In a couple runs you should be clear of the breakers. No footstraps makes the timing tight (to get reset and riding again).
