Gadgets on harness

Postby Wolf of Ainsdale » Sun Jan 28, 2024 10:54 pm

What gadgets have you added to your harness? I have just added a board leash for when having to swim back with kite and board and a strobe light for emergencies.

I always bring a pump nozzle adapter with me.
I have a safety cutter knive attached on the side between the straps, with a large plastic ball 30mm to grab it in a reflex. Without that you would never be able to find it and pull it if you are desoriented underwater.

I have also two clips, as I connect my floatation vestto my harnass, so vest will not rideupin a crash.

A pair of compact water shoes (the first time was a pair of fliplops) in case I might end up exiting on a rocky shore or might need to walk back longer. Was a very smart decision on few occasions.

P.S. Tied with a velcro strap to the handlepass line on the back of the harness.

That's great idea re handle for safety knife. Have been thinking it would be hard to find the handle in a crash as it's so soft.

I got a little Dakine pack that fist over the webbing, the perfect size to keep my phone, knife, and credit card in, for down winders.

My impact vest clips to the seat harness to keep it from riding up.
On my back I have a pouch for surf shoes.
Behind my left shoulder I have a pouch with a net bag for packing the kite in the event of a swim in.
On my left chest I have a pouch for a walkie-talkie and whistle
I have a hook knife on the harness,
A long elastic leash for the hydrofoil board.

I stuck a creepy old man in there.

It doesn’t seem to work as well as it used to.

But these days

It’s good to get by.

Seriously, I got into a situation this week, where I really wished I had a knife or line-cutter on-hand...
