Short board leash for swim ins is on the harness. Around my neck, car key and whistle. In the pocket on my flotation aid is a mesh laundry bag for wrapping the kite up in the water.

I got a little Dakine pack that fist over the webbing, the perfect size to keep my phone, knife, and credit card in, for down winders.

I got this same pack and its sweet. Very low profile. Enough space for a phone or epirb, whistle, and knife. Easily attached to my wing harness and stays out of the way nicely. Previously I was clipping things to my harness and never had an inconspicuous spot for an epirb that I use on longer downwinds. This thing is perfect.

Trilobite line knife.

I like that it has two edges and the blades are replaceable. The knife pocket easily slides over harness webbing.

Thanks taiguy.

I got my hydrofoil hung up on a tangled mass of perhaps 100 lb. Mono fishing line that was wrapped up on a crab trap buoy.

After struggling and failing to get it free with no chance to break the line, I realized I was in a potentially deadly situation.

I decided I had to body drag all the way back to shore to get a knife…

with these knifes, you'll loose the knifes easily from the knife pockets.
https://powerkiteshop.com/mystic-kitesu ... -knife.htm

The solution is to mount, the knife holder in between the both harnass straps, bascically the holder is squezed between the straps and out of the way, does not stick out of the harnass.
And as mentioned before you must add a ball something you can feel, otherwise you cannot grab find the knife in an instant emergency situation. Which could happen in a blink of the eye.....
