I like the Cabrinha H650 front with HS180 tail chopped to about a 150. It has a very nice combination of speed and maneuverability in a mid-aspect front wing and chopped down thin high-aspect tail.hydroholic wrote: ↑Mon Feb 05, 2024 5:48 pmHi everyone,
Has anybody tryied a small Wing foil in kitefoil ? I talk about the smallest HA size (or Mid aspect size) of the different brand. What about the HA580 V2 from armstrong by example ? Or what about the sk8 650/550, ketos 780 karve ?
I'm looking for something that will fit perfectly an hybrid kite to go downwind, wave surfing, gliding like a wing but with the radicality of a kitefoil on flat water: acceleration, radical turn, tack, 360, high maneuverability, i ride strapless, no jump.
I hear about the 780 karve from ketos, and i already ride a ketos foil that i enjoy a lot ! Has anybody already tested that wing ?
To say it quick, i'm looking for best of both worlds for an experienced rider
all kind of answers are welcome
Axis foils are measured by span not area, the Spitfire 840 is 1006 sqcm, if that's too big it comes in 780 (902 sqcm) and 720 (815 sqcm).
One thing to be careful with for downwind wave kiting is too much speed and glide on your foil in light winds. I typically ride my PNG 910 for this and love it because it just works in all windswell conditions. I also have a ARTPRO 1201 and took it out kitefoiling just to see what it would be like in 9 knots of wind and it was terrible because of how easily your foil will out run your kite.
