Ok guys

Building carbon stuff for years and years but having zero experience with bridals. My FRS is probably out of tune just a little. Somewhere in past somebody mention /Foilholio/ that there is no point to adjust so call mixer to its original settings and that add some 3-4cm to Z lines at mixer is universal solution for most kites. That was also recommended to me from second hand as Gunnars tip.
So is there any rationality about this and can you guys explain me in little simpler terms why such mod should work? My problem is just little tip instability while static depowered on edge. I dont even noticed it couse why on earth should i leave my kite depowered static on edge? :)

many thanks

Z shorter/tighter = less stable

Z longer/looser = more stable

You have a problem with the kite being less stable. Which do you think you should do to make it more stable?

Hint it's not a trick question and I will be marking it on Sunday.

Now if you want the theory lesson behind it that's next Monday.

The lesson on what other things I can do if part of my kite is doing X, like say just my tip is instable, that's on Friday.

Now remember to use the search button to study up. :D

Camber is the word of the day. C is for camber. S is for search.

maybe I do not understood well your question Tomtom, but in summary and just in case:
- reducing Z will increase the camber of the kite
- this will give more grunt power , specially at low speed and low wind, but less depower
- this should increase your kite agility and reduce turn radius (good for surfing for example)
- when fully depowered, the kite will be more sensitive to fronstall instabilities, so not adapted to turbulent areas for example

A too high camber can go in detriment of the L/D ratio, hence the speed and upwind in medium wind can be affected. In very low wind you gain more power so it compensate the loss of L/D ratio and you can go upwind sometimes better than less camber (support and wind dependant).

More camber translate your wind range toward lower winds overall. An "easy-to-change" camber on the beach allows you to extend the wind range of your kite (high camber for lower winds, flat camber for high or gusty winds)

Nice work Mr S2000

I see on facebook some people tried on the Aurora 2 unsuccessfully. Because of the ratio change the kite will be less stable. Lengthen Z should fix this, 5-10cm or more, they will need to tune it out. Otherwise tip adjustments might be needed.

Kite behaves quite good and seems interesting indeed..., even if i would not call this "no wind"
