Total line length incl Bar/trim/leaders or only the lines themself? I am now on 14m total length on the 17-20m and 11m on the smaller sizes. Even 18m lines feels really slow and draggy now :)

Total line length. I use 1.2m leaders, so lines are actually 10.8m and 8.8m.

Hej Gunnar,

Sorry, I'm a bit confused now.
Let's turn this around and ask for recommendations for:

Hydrofoiling only. Recreational Freeriding. Maximum fun is goal.
Chronos 13 and 9 m kite.
A few different Hf wings like Moses 590-550-558.

If I set up 2 bars, one with 25m lines, what should other " short line" bar have?

Thanks again for your help.

Ah, I should try even shorten then!

@TomW: From 25m you should go down to 18-20m line length, any shorter is too big of a gap and jump in necessary skills if you are not used to ultra short lines. If you want to go to racing lengths, slowly decrease the line length by 2m steps when you are comfortable with 18m lines.

I have always flown my Chrono’s (V1’s) on 25m lines (standard issue) for all sizes 18m,12m & 9m and never really considered using any other length of line.
Are there any proven benefits using different line lengths for a given size of foil?
I’m happy with my current setup, so presumably it’s personal preference.

What about shorter lines hydrofoil freerace quiver for 85kg from really light winds to say 25knots gusts. Is it 11m and 15m ?
Define really light winds and how short lines? With the current race lengths (10 to 12m lines) you would probably need the 18m for your weight if you wanted to get going 6-8 knots.

Not so hardcore realy. I'm thinkining about more allround setup 17-20m lines so I can go fast and jump high at the same session. I mostly ride light gusty continental winds, so really doubt about the 18m as it easily gusts to 7-8m/s even on the lightest days.

20m is probably the way to go.

You should be fine on the 15m then.

I'd really like to try a Chronos kite. Not likely in my region!

Hello guys,
I'm using a chrono V2 15m with lines of 20m. It cost me a lot to go less than 7 knots.

The ones who tryes the V3 which size do you recomend for 5 to 7 knots? Does the ultralight version works better in such light wind?

My foil is a Spotz Tuna with the lightwind wing.
I have the Chrono V2 15m, Ozone Edge 13 and 9 metres.

Thanks !

Anyone other than Gunnar get a go on one of these yet? No independent reviews out there yet...
