Down winder hope you get your bridle (or maybe the kite itself) fixed. Mine was off by 3 or 4 cm and flying like crap did the short mixer thing and like magic it flies great again. No idea what's wrong with your kite maybe let someone else fly it for 10 or 15 minutes to get a fresh perspective that sometimes helps. It's one thing for a great flysurfer rider to look at it on the beach another thing if they can fly it around with the board under their feet.
In his latest message he states that he did. It sounds like that particular one needs to go back to the factory to be sorted. You can measure all the bridles and try and work it out that way but if the PMAs (knots inside the canopy) have changed then even that isn't going to help.

The mixer test is designed as a way of balancing a kite as it goes through its life and as downunder states, its a good simple tool for most but sometimes you have to do the long yards with the tape measure and spreadsheet to see where the problem lies. That's not really acceptable on a new kite but if its secondhand you have to rely on good will to help you.

Thankfully it seems that problems like this are relatively rare (I think Kristan had another kite in a poor state of tune and my secondhand 10m had crossed lines at the mixer though I can't blame any manufacturing for that) so it shouldn't be a minefield for a new foil kite rider. I've seen enough problems with bridles on second hand LEIs to know that its not a unique problem for foil kites (just that foil kites are more sensitive to poor tune)

What do you guys think the wind range will be for sizes 10 / 12 / 15 mtr for a 70 kg rider with a hydrofoil ?
Don't think there will be a difference in v1 versus v2.
My experience (v1 but modified) in steady wind, -3m lines, 72kg, 700, 790 and 1200cm2 frontwings (waiting for trying my free race frontwing..)
6m: 12kts
10m: 8kts
12m: 6/7 kts
no experience with a 15m.
The 12m has better float in the air to the 10m.
Thanks ,

Exactly the info I was looking for .

I thought he only had them look at the mixer on dry land and they didn't actually fly the kite under power on the water. The nice thing about the soul is that all the factory specs are published so theoretically it's not hard to get it into proper tune. Other foil kites once they go out sometimes it's hard to get them right. I love the soul and feel bad his is not right.

Ideal line lenghts for light wind foiling with a Soul 10 m. Any opinions?

I don't think there's a unique ideal length. Use whatever works for your local beach.

Well, I never run my soul under 12 mt lines, for light winds I would go up to 19, depending on the conditions

How about longer? In the winter on snow i use a bar with 40 m lines in light wind.

What bar do you use with your soul ?
Are there people here using the flysurfer connect bar ?
Flysurfer says it's not suitable for the soul .
What are your thoughts ?

Connect won't work it has a high Y and I think the safety is different as well.

more or less same..
i prefer flying double skin foils on ~12m lines.. however, 30m lines will give you up extra 1-3 kts on the low end (more on smaller ...less on the bigger kites imo)
