Im going to get Onda which is 1250cm, would 9m Ultra not being enough? According to previous posts I could retire soul 15m if I have Onda and Ultra 9/10m?
I do like Soul and on some occasions I could go traveling with two Souls instead of taking any LEI but hassle to self land it especially that when foiling there isn’t many people on beach. Looping Soul 15m terrifies me when doing it on XR is easy peasy

The bottom line is with surf wing like Onda it makes more sense to have lightweight LEI instead of foil kite as benefits of first out outweighs advantages of foil kite
Surf foil needs surf kite.. ever tried a Peak4?
If water restart is a thing for you a Soul 6m will be enough in 12 kts.. 8)

Soul is a surf kite now? :D
I’m not ready for peak, water restart of Soul can be headache I don’t even what to think how it is with single skin kite.
Ultra 9m is on top of my list at the moment,

get a 1-struct kite in 10m and you'll not regret.

Boxer, Ultra or Alpha.

There's a belief that you need a foil kite for very light winds on hydrofoil. Not anymore.

An Alpha 10m weigths just 2.3kg while a Soul 12m is 2,32kg. Both will have similar low end and will start to fly at 6-7 knots. Soul will have more wind range, better to go upwind (speed) and is more floaty but is more expensive, worse to keep (dry, check bridles, self landing, etc...) and does not float. An 1-struct is cheaper, easier to keep (basically, do nothing), floats and, in my opinion, is more playfull to fly.

(to be honest, I'm still trying to find a reason to keep the Souls I have here...)

the soul is the best. I'm not afraid of swimming so that's why I don't care for the no and 1 struts.

You have to pump 1 strut kites, dont need to pump souls.
Rather have a soul than not.

From personal experience I’d say setup time for a Soul (or other similar foil kite) is definitely longer than for an lei. Yes if it’s all good it’s quick, but there are enough times you have to fart about with bridles that make it overall more of a faff.

Agree. You have to count the time carefully lining up the bridle, placing it inside the kite with no twists, rolling it up so it doesn't get tangled all as part of your setup time because you are setting it up for the next session. My tube kites I roll up like sausages. Foil kites you gotta be careful rolling them up.

it gets even worse when is windy and you don't find a clean spot with sand to land
