In my experience I find the Soul easier to self land than the Sonic. With the sonic, unless you just the right amount of the back lines, sometimes I would have the trailing edge fold up and the kite would relaunch on its own. With the Soul I can backstall land it and not be worried about it moving. With the Sonic, during stronger winds, I would usually have to rush.

Can't tell for myself, but I've seen a dude who was foiling on 12m Soul in 6-7 knots.

I’m potentially in the market for a Mid AR foil kite for the 20 mph wind range.
My HL 12m would provide more power than I need and would therefore be more comfortable on a smaller kite.
I could go for an HL 9m but having never flown a FS kite i feel compelled to consider the Soul.
Question:
Is the 10m Soul to close in terms of PA as compared to my HL 12m or would the 8m Soul be the better choice?
Hard to work out as Ozone doesn’t quote PA for their kites as far as I know.
Any advice appreciated...

Need some info: your weight, equipment, main purpose(tt or hf) etc.

If this is for hydrofoiling, a 10/12 will have too much overlap and you may find the 10m Soul more powerful than you HL 12m. For me even a 8/12 will be too much overlap and at 20kts I’d be very much wanting something smaller. I’d suggest getting the 6m Soul. I have about 10hrs on mine and I’m really loving it. Drifts surprisingly well and it’s really fun and playful. I’m 185lbs riding a SS DC 42” with the Moses 633.

If this is mostly for twintip riding, I’d go with a 8 Soul. Fantastic kite that loves to be overpowered.

I’m around 95kg and on my way back to 88kg. (14stone) and ride a Skimboard 54”x 20” (non-kite specific) having always used Twin Tips.
No fins or straps and kitesurf in shallow water and very much into flat water, small waves and cruising around ETC.

Looking at the technical data of the SOUL, https://flysurfer.com/project/soul/ the AR ranges from 5.0 to 6.0 across the range (Presumably 5.0 equates to being Mid AR) with the PA of the 8m SOUL being 6.65m (83% of 8m)

The HL is a Mid AR foil, but unable to establish how the HL compares in terms of PA to the 8m SOUL. The 8m SOUL looks to be good choice and presents a decent gap from the HL 12m.
Not sure if the 8m SOUL is comparable to a 9m HL in terms in terms of power.
Not yet decided, but thought it was worth asking.
Thanks

That’s definitely an option as all my kites are Ozone in which the HL 9m V2 or even an HL 9m V1 would be fine,i'm sure.
There are several guys on FS kites at my local beach and just fancied the idea of trying something else. :D
It will all come down to price anyway.

Could someone here with very recent information tell me what to purchase for a good bar for a brand new Soul? I have my 12m on order and it's waiting in California at the shop.... but I've told them to wait 2 weeks until the new FS bar apparently arrives.
Any new information here on the 2019 compatible FS bar for the 12m Soul?
TIA

Yes, It will be compatible of course. Preferably choose the 55 cm bar size for the 12 M Soul.
