Armin
what happened to Flysurfer Soul 12 Month free repair service?
It looks like disappeared from Flysurfer website. If so why don't you write and explain the reason for it?
I sent 2 emails to Flysurfer about it without any response.
if you are canceling this I will fully understand, just tell us what is it?

Hi Armin ,

When I do the long mixer test to get the A and Z to line up at the kite , there is quite a difference at the other end where the A and Z connect to the flying lines, is this ok and if so should I just proceed to equalise the B/C with the difference at the flying line end but equal at the kite ?

I hope this makes sense

The free repair service that FS provided I have always considered as highly commendable.

Today I had opportunity to test my 12m Soul again. I was curious how it would behave after equalizing the mixer. And I'd say it did the trick.

Wind was around 10 knots with slight turbulence. This time kite was much more stable, predictable and controllable. I had a really nice session with it. Constant wingtip flaps were gone, unless there were some lulls, way less collapses, mostly by my mistakes, but it still inverts a lot. I figured that it inverts when it loses some of the internal air pressure, because it mostly happened when I landed the kite or crashed and didn't relaunch it right away. In turbulence this kite works well in micro bursts, but doesn't handle micro lulls. It loses all the power for a couple of seconds, going slack, and sometimes that's enough to fall on your butt, cuz kite doesn't hold you anymore. A bit annoying, but I can live with that. Parking this kite is pain. No matter how much snow did I put on its wingtip, it still was prone to get blown off with any short gust or wind redirection. The only way to be sure was to throw a harness on it and a snowboard on top. When I tried to fold the bar and the kite and I didn't throw all my stuff on it, it moved for like 15 meters from initial parking spot, constantly tangling in bridles. Guess that's a price to pay for light fabric and lightwind performance.

When with a wet Soul, and any foilkite i think, it will behave very different. When you land the kite fold at least 1 or better 1.5 meter of the tip and put youre board or harness on it. I made the mistake couple of times to fold just 30 cm with some sand on it. Had to made some nice dives towards it. When folding tips hold the downwind tip as low as possible and walk fast to the upwind tip. hope this helps a bit.

To me it is not related to the light cloth in itself but rather the lotus enduction choice by Flysurfer that is very slippy. I liked it on my ex speed4 for its deperlancy and relaunch, but indeed it is very slippy on the ground and need more weight on the wing to lock it on the ground. Which may complicate things on hard snow in some configurations. However it isa very good enduction IMO.

Today at my fourth session with Soul I'm checking the bridles and see... this.

Serious questions: What the hell is this and is this acceptable for a kite with a price tag of almost 2000$?
