Don’t direct anything toward him. It’s me that said it. I apologize a bit for my tone. Not so much for my content.
I actually think you have good things to offer, but you seriously drown yourself out.
There are several posters that do it all the time. You also engage with them. Then the post gets so drowned out that people I’m sure stop paying attention.
Constructive criticism: you lose your audience.
That’s all I’m saying.

Thanks for that! No really and it is good to clarify. I like criticism, especially when it is valid. I do drown myself out quite often, I have also been too immature on far too many occasions. I wish I could write more concise but I can only write as I can. I have been making an effort more lately to not state too many things, especially unnecessary ones. Like in a thread recently I suggested "longer lines", others agreed and added some more info or support to it. Something like my post on the "Zmod" I am not particularly proud of and have probably added more confusion than I solved :-/ I can do much better now. Pictures or video would surely do a much better job of explaining the things I try to, but then I am not going to make them nor would I have the time really. I can type a lot though as you know. I engage with people sometimes to challenge my own ideas and not necessarily convince them of mine though I often do that too. Kitexpert obviously knows a lot about kites, much more than me I think. We do have some areas of disagreement, we have arrived at things from different knowledge and experience. One of us is most certainly wrong on a few things, and if it is me I would like to know so that I can be right. I have seen kitexperts position move a little and I feel mine has moved a lot on things. I am most certain I am not an expert but I do know some things. I share what I know in the hope it will expand the general knowledge and improve peoples experience and maybe one day feed back some new knowledge. I would like to learn things here too.

Now I am finished drowning again :-) I will take some breaths.

Good winds Flyfish!

I'm sure everyone here appreciates foilholio's enthusiasm, his experiments and willingness to give advice. Even though discussions may become sometimes unclear they still can give new ideas and also writing and reading these posts should improve understanding of the subject. I've also learned some things from the forum even though I have quite a long history with kites from the very basic level.

@foilholio – You come across as a very driven individual and someone that takes foil kites to an analytical level. There is nothing wrong with that I might add as I have found your contributions to the forum very useful. You have strong opinions as does many other users on this forum.
Uploading images would be good to see in order to help explain the point.
I would consider Armin Harich of Flysurfer as a "kite expert" on this forum who may well be too modest to accept such an accolade :)

I think the issue we are talking about and I agree with is when two posters basically take over the thread and dissect and argue/bicker using page long posts. This usually kills the thread, I know I personally stop reading. There’s been many times and it’s seems to be getting worse, when I think to myself, “why don’t these two take it to PM, no one else cares”. This seems to be a trend on the entire forum, where people dissect each and every point and make book long posts for the benefit of no one but themselves.

Well I like posting in public so that others can add too or read. The PM's I get have been quite interesting, mostly people asking for help in private, I have over 12 posts each way with one person recently that would have made a good thread.

I think to make better posts stand out the thanks button is helping but maybe it could evolve further. Another option is a Wiki. Quite a few things are getting repeated and a wiki may be better than searching and scanning through posts.

Maybe it is because I can read reasonably fast but I have no issue with the long posts from others. If I scan into something and find it worthless I will sometimes just skip over it. I only actually take interest in about 5-10% of thread titles, but some of those can be quite long and unending.

The forum overall is quite interesting to me. There is quite a mix of people here and they all contribute something in differing ways. Even things like memes from Pullstrings aimed at me I can find fun. I have enjoyed many of your contributions Adventure Logs, particularly a few of the videos I have watched.

Thanks!
