How does the 5m peak work on long lines 28m ? I've used long lines for so long now it's hard to go back , I love how long lines loop and the power you get when you need it .

I have 25m lines on my 5m (21m on my 4m). Initially I thought the length was unnecessary because the peak doesn't seem to build more power with apparent wind. But it allows longer power sweeps, and more room for error in lulls. It still turns well with longer lines.

I took my Flysurfer Peak4 5m out yesterday with my NP Surf Glide Large wing in 9-10 knots. I didn't think it would have the juice but it worked out.

The Peak4 is simply amazing in light wind, it hang in the sky when all other kites would be in the water. What I enjoy about foiling is caring waves downwind but since I'm only foiling in light winds the apparent wind goes down to near nothing. So far the Peak4 is the only kite I've seen that can handle this, I've tried 1 and 0 strut kites and they can't.

Deep water relaunch is 1/1 so far. Because my foil trucks super fast downwave, after I fell I had to swim full bore for 25 seconds to catch my foil and by the time I got there and got my board the kite actually relaunched 100% on it's own without any input.

Once the wind backed off a bit I had trouble getting up on my board mostly because of how buoyant my foil is. After 15 minutes I figured out a technique that worked though but it does require deep water (over 6 ft).

I wasn't planning on it but I might buy the 8m for 8-9 knot foiling.

Would love to hear your opinion of the 8m. 5m sounds so small. What single or zero strut kites/size would you equate your 5m peak to?

Somewhere between my 6.5m Solo and my 9m Solo. Probably closer to the 6.5m.

The thing about the Peak is it loops quite a bit faster than my 6.5m so that allows it to generate the power needed to get up out of the water but then once up it has less static pull.

5m Peak is about 7m north neo - which is quite powerfull kite. Neo has more powerfull loop for start. I dont know about 8m Peak but in my opinion this is closed cell kite territory. We are talking about under 10 knots winds and here you simple need better L/D than Peak and also more powerfull loops to start. Peak is best drifter ever though. I have 5 and 4 and thinking about 3m. My biggest kite is 9m Medium aspect closed cell. Sold all LEIs.
