I was so worried that our fascinating discussions on low V vs high Y or if it is possible to use brand X bar on brand Y kite were threatened by this unorthodox setup.
How high is the Y
how low is the V
I often wonder
if my new kite is able
to fly with my old bar
of different brand
Do they like each other?
Or is it even possible?
Is it dangerous?
Why does it back stall?
I don't know
But I can always
ask for good advice
from Kiteforum
I got my first Peak ( and FC bar) today - I’ve ridden the P4 5m twice and was able to purchase one today. I’ve not ridden the 4 yet but expect I’ll probably get one eventually. I’m heavy at 95kg and riding axis S foil 680 wing. My local spot is a ocean / flat water (wind chop <1ft), typically 18-22 knots but we have an excellent downwinder close by which is cross onshore beach breaks typically waist high. I know the 5 works well both up and downwind, and maybe the 4 will be for Downwind sessions. i also have a Soul 15 and a couple of Leis in the quiver, so plenty of kites but the Peak is the most exciting for me !

Yes,
As you know who in Perth are using it in 4 and 5 sizes and I know some other guys back ordered too.
But, it is interesting how James was hooked on 5m Boost2 with 35m long lines not so long ago

I now use a bar with a sort of a backstall safety for unhooked. It is not exactly a backstall safety as this would require that backlines would be pulled in more but would maybe risk also more to sink it. As the main goal is to let go off the bar, when crashing for example, and then having the kite putting itself in as much as possible relaunchable (deep stall) position.
That's how it looks like (even if in the video the bar setting was not yet right)
And this is how a old bar I added this feature looks like:
Just hook into blue line and chance for relaunch will be high

The time has changed...
This is totally true !! I also have a new foil now - I’m riding an Axis Surf /Sup Foil with an 1100cm2 wing (680). Previously I was riding kite foils with small wings and the high AR lei worked well. Now I aim to ride downwind with wave power and minimal kite input. I still have my Boost 5 !! The Boost is for riding upwind and far from shore, the Peak is for downwind / free ride remaining close to shore. Makes sense to me....
does the 5m Peak drift well, or is the 4m better as the winds are a bit stronger when using the 4m? I'm still debating which one to get, the 5m or 4m, argh

I have both. They both drift equally well and are extremely fun. If you want to ride lighter winds, get the 5m if you want to ride stronger winds get the 4m.
