Yes in video clear view that yellow 5th flapping much less than blue 4th. If 5th turning now quicker it means that peak5 6m will turn quite near as peak4 5m? As now peak5 6m seems lighter than peak4 5m!
By the way maybe someone knows the place where this promo peak5 video was shooted? Mountains looks looks like in Spain?
Looking at the pics from the shots Adventure logs had up it looks to me like the orange battens extend much further back into the canopy which would definitely account for less flapping. I take the materials marketing speak with a grain of salt.
Excited to see the evolution of what seems to be the most successful of the SS kites out there. Also glad they didn't compromise for the sake of relaunch. Will be happy to see another model down the line for that but hope there is always a pure bred SS in their stable.
Anyone in the know on the variable aspect ratio via bridle tuning alluded to on the website? That is new! Definitely interested to hear more about that.
I don't get it? One metre increments from 6 to 4 ... & then goes to a 2.5 m? IMO it should go 8m, 6m, 4.5m, 3.5m, 2.5m. I find the gap between the 6m & the 5m is unnecessarily small. The 1m gap between the 5m & the 4m is perfect.
Considering the Peak 5 is aimed squarely at snow use, maybe the sizes make perfect sense. And if rumours are correct and a water relaunchable version is being developed, sizing would be suited for water use.
We had a few Peak users at our local but only one now, even one swim in on a rocky coast is one too many. Hopefully the new near 100% relaunchable version will see Peaks or whatever they will be called return to our local.
I've flown my new 5m now abt 5 times. Wind speeds were in the range of maybe 10knts to 20. It doesn't just flutter. It's like I'm holding a jackhammer. It seems to have a very small sweet spot where this motion stops. I've made sure that all my line lengths on my control bar are equal. What else can I do? The new 4m I bought doesn't have this issue; just the occasional flapping.
