Also interested to hear how you will do.

As agree with jumptheshark, for normal conditions side or sideon, it is useless IMO.

Even the 8 is on the verge to not working.

You said you could not get the 8, but why the 13 and not the 11 then?

Totally in line with Brian H, that the 8 can go down to 8 knots, but not less.

Whereas the 6 can go almost as low, 9 knots, because it is so much faster and can pull you out of the water - but the 6 is an awesome wavekite, the 8 not so much.

Assume you got very different wave conditions, so a big Peak might work for you.
But it does not work for me, have had the 11, but useless and sold it.

Still keep the 8 as it is somewhat in the transition zone, so "nice" to have sometimes, eventhough not good in waves, but easy to pull out when wind drops and you just wanna ride "now".

I can ride in just as low wind as the Peak4 11 m2 with a light 12 m2 LEI kite, and it turns way faster and has more peak power - so better.

Now I have got a superlight 11 m2 doubleskin foil kite instead (turns quite fast), for winds 6/7-8 knots, will see what I prefer in the long run.

Looping and flying fast is the only way to start in each kites low end, with Peak kites below 8 m2.

Above 8 m2 I agree, it makes more sense to sine it, so you get more apparent wind, as they dont accelerate like the small ones.

They only had the 13 and 11 left, I have consistently heard better things about the 13. I figured it will be fun for sessions in stupidly low wind. It was reduced enough to where its low risk if I choose to sell it

Might be a wise choice, as the 13 is a later design and words says it turns quite well.

A friend of mine got one, and love it as his low wind kite - in particular because it never drops :thumb:

Maybe a bit off topic, but maybe not, as it is interesting which kites we all use when the 6 m2 Peak4 gets too small (meaning below 9 knots)

The new kite I bought is a Kauper-XT Falcon, my 11 m2 weighs 14-1500 grams, good power and turns fast because of its low weight.

If I did not have the 8 m2 Peak4, I might also have gotten the 9 m2 Falcon for its extremety, or a 9 m2 FRS as it has good range (but FRS too low power for marginal wind IMO, so wont get the 12 m2 FRS).

PS: You are the one that convinced me about the Peak4´s, thank you, have never looked back ever since.
3-4-5-6 are eminent kites :thumb:

I had the 13m and traded it off after 4 sessions. For me it :
-did some things really really well ---> super stable in almost no breeze, so light vs sail area. Fast turning and looped well.
-did some things really badly --> front tip tucking, top and bottom, suddenly balling up in the sky. Also going too wide on gybe + too big with no structure=
instant shapeless blob falling from the sky, no chance to recover
- tried to kill me --> what do you do with 13m and all the bridling in the surf? Trying to jam all into laundry bag, it wrapped my legs and went over my head
at one stage, serious thoughts of being dragged under. never again will I take a massive kite that sinks instantly in the surf.

I use a Nova 10m Ultralight. But really I find I'm suffering with it until I can get back on the 6m, feels like a tractor in comparison.
I'm thinking of trying a 12-14m Aluula Roam, or the upcoming Airush Ultra Hookipa instead.

Awesome kitefoil session on narrow gusty river today! Wind was wild, gusty, and all over the place but the Flysurfer kite handled it so well, depowering instantly when needed, drifting well downwind, fun to backstall and helicopter, decent performance to blast back upwind on strapless race foil and pocket board.

Which size Peak, you ask? Well, it was the Soul 6m.

nice sh!tstirring, but Soul and "instant depower" just isn't going to wash. Particularly with Peak users

Anyone want to guess what happens when you order a 13m peak? That's right 15-20knot winds, was worth the investment already...LoL. Had an interesting day, started out on my peak 4 5m and had some fun roller coaster runs rocking upwind and then riding downwind on swell, wind was closer to 10-15 with some lulls to 8. Really fun and definitely good conditions for the Peak. Misjudged the wind and took a long drawn out bottom turn on a wave during a lull, knew I had messed up by how severely slacked my lines were. Looked up and saw a balled up bed sheet at the end of my lines, I figured I was swimming but cut hard upwind to tension my lines again. Pumped my bar a few times and magically the kite opened up again with no tangles. Very lucky.

Wind picked up to 15-20, still fun but figured it was time for a downwinder on the wing. It's been awhile since it's been windy enough for winging, have to admit I like it better when it's blowing 15+ and there are waves. Oh and when I have time to set up downwind run, lots of ifs for when I prefer winging, but the freedom of running downwind and picking off any wave you want and riding the outside wind swell is so magic. No worries about kite position and bed sheets either, even if there is a lull.

Great to have options. Still looking forward to the 13m sessions but also looking forward to demoing one the the larger Fone CWC wings too. It's good to have options.
