So, I heard about someone using foam pool noodle pieces on the Peak4 somehow to help with water relaunch and even flapping. I couldn't get the scoop on it. Anyone know about this or tried it?

This must be trolling but I still answer. I've read condoms are tested, but really there is no need. The correct way of flying peaks is applying a bit bar pressure to keep backlines and fabric tight. No flapping.

First, I'm not a troll. This is a serious question. Second, it's more about water re-launch capability. Flapping control was a happy secondary occurence from what I heard. I just can't get any details. Maybe it's all a joke but I thought someone here would know.

Seen such a mod locally. Two or three 5cm foam struts in pockets running from leading edge to tail. No idea if it helps with relaunch but could definitely stabilise the canopy. Not much extra weight apparently.

There was also a post in this thread about using air filled plastic bags in the leading edge to help with relaunch of bigger sizes.

It was mentioned earlier in this thread (page 235) about using ziplock bags under the leading edge as floatation. Haven't heard foam noodles. Not sure a) how you stop them falling out b)how you get them tight enough to provide the support you want.

i have been using the Peak4's a lot recently.

lately I have developed 'kite elbow' and am wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

I guess it it because I often ride for long periods with some pressure on the bar, just enough to reduce the flutter of being sheeted out.

Do you keep your QR very close to your body? I had some trouble with my elbow until i increased the distance. Especially when riding switch it put my elbow under stress in an unnatural position.

Which bar are you using?

I've already tried to use my Soul with the FS's bar and hate it. I have relatively long arms (1,85m tall) and the depower range is too small for me. The riding position was awkward. In toe side was even worse. Now I'm using a Cabrinha AV8's bar and it's amazing for me.

Interesting. It's hard for me imagine getting "tennis elbow" from using Peaks as the pull is so light ... particularly as I generally ride with pretty modest amount of power, when possible. I actually have quite a distance from the bar as I'm using a Dynabar set up with a conventional chicken loop.
