Yes, the rings are so you can use any bar with this kite, no matter whether knots or loops, genius.
I also shortened my rear lines a lot on my bar, pretty normal for water use in waves I think.

I did this for my peak in size 4 and 5, but on the 8m2 it does not work for me like that. On the 8m2 i still like the back lines a bit longer than the front lines. So, the bar that i use for smaller Peaks does not work with the 8m2, without adjusting the trim. Am I the only one?Peter_Frank wrote: ↑Mon Sep 14, 2020 1:50 pmI also shortened my rear lines a lot on my bar, pretty normal for water use in waves I think.

Thanks for the tip, but I allready have seperate bars for all my Peaks.Peter_Frank wrote: ↑Mon Sep 14, 2020 5:12 pmYou could just add some short thin extensions to the rear lines on your 8, and everything is perfect with the same bar

So true!Peter_Frank wrote: ↑Mon Sep 14, 2020 7:03 pmNo, the 8 m2 is good, but not in a league of their own like the 5 and smaller.
Never trust the default trim of any kite or bar, the first thing you gotta do is adjust the trim, and most often you have to ride a couple of times till you know the exact perfect trim

Thread it’s line through the metal ring to make a loop. Then success.Si_B wrote: ↑Mon Sep 14, 2020 9:46 pmPeter,Peter_Frank wrote: ↑Mon Sep 14, 2020 1:50 pmYes, the rings are so you can use any bar with this kite, no matter whether knots or loops, genius.

I’m being a bit thick, but can you explain how the rings fit any bar. I’m going to use an ozone bar. Can understand the larks head over a ring, but how does the knot work?

100% agree. 90 kg and 1125 cm2 wingjumptheshark wrote: ↑Mon Sep 14, 2020 12:45 pmYou need smaller Peaks! Anything over 20 knots is 3m weather, maybe 4m if you want to jump.
170lbs, 1100 cm2 wing, like to ride in the kites true sweet spot. Enough power to get up and go easily, enough power to crank upwind, enough power to provide a little float and soften landings for strapless airs, not so much power that the kite flaps or cannot be completely shut off when heading down swell.
5m 11-16 knots
4m 15-22 knots
3m 20 and up.
For the first little while on the 4m I thought I wouldn't need the 3m.
I was wrong.
You can pretty safely and easily ride the Peaks into loads more wind than ideal. It just starts to dumb the riding down to what it would be with a small LEI. Rigging down maintains the kites unique advantages, and as the conditions get bigger and bigger, those advantages become more and more incredible.
