Below 10 knots I use the Peak 4 11 and at my weight (120 lbs) it is working very well. But at 12 knots I have to change because overpower with the 11.
Note: I am a beginner with Shinn P wing

Hi all,

From what I had red in this thread peak 5 has a range of 9-20knot but with optimal range 12-15knots. Peak 8 has a low range of 7-8knots, but I can't find its optimal range and high end. So whoever had experience with peak 8, I will.appreciate their opinion. Thanks

Only had 5 sessions on it so far, so maybe a bit premature to comment, but it's about 10-14 for me at 90-95kg. High end is only dictated by (lack of) comfort on the upwind leg.

I'm using the 8m on days when regular weight closed cells can barely hot launch, from around 7-8 knots if the tide is helping me. It's comfortable up to about 13-15 knots. 75kg.

The light wind sessions with the 8m require more careful down loop gybes, otherwise you can collapse the kite. There's much more of that peak freedom and playfulness using the 5m in more wind.

Me 230 lbs. on Armstrong 800 or 1200 hydrofoil. What size Peak 4 for me?

9-18 kn with small choppy waves. Just read the 40 pages, maybe 5 or 8 m.

Definitely not the 5. 8 meters is optimistic for 9 knots unless rider is on small side with large wing.

Hi, I would like to start hydrofoiling. I am going to learn with a gong strutwave 9m2, but later to cover wind range of 10-15kn or a bit lower, is it a good option peak 8 or maybe 5 with line extensions and a very big front wing?
I'm inclined to peak4 8m2, for the above more consistent, on shore, thermal wind range with small swell, in my local spots, but for the few days we get 15-20 knots off shore winds , and most other kiters choose a shallow salt lake with flat conditions , is the 8m2 peak with a twintip, a usable option, accepting no boosting and upwind limited capability? Or 5m2 will be better option , for those few days?
