Thanks for the permission to purchase... I showed my wife and she laughed which I think is a good thing.

Appreciated all the comments. I think I'm going to go with the 15m Soul (and to edt: great points but I already have two 12m kites!) To be honest I'd never heard of the Phantom, checked it out and it looks interesting and the price is great I have to admit, I'm curious to try one some day.

kites aren't forever. Sell one of your 12's. there's no reason to buy the wrong size kite just because you already have a kite of that size. I'm guilty of holding kites too long too. For me it's 15's that I tend to accumulate. I promise next spring I'm selling 2 or 3 of my 15's.

With your 9m and weight, I think a 15m is the way to good. You’ll love the Soul.

Gyre,
Your question is: will Soul 15m be good on a TT in 13knots, and is there enough overlapping to the 9 speed bottom end. At 200 lbs.

I know, as I took that I was thinking this is a nice kite but a perfect cat toy... all that crinkly material, all those colourful lines...

Added a 15m Soul over the weekend. We have 8, 10, 12, 15. Not a two kite quiver but its shared between my girlfriend and myself. We used to have about 8 kites between us (mix of sonics, speed5 and tubes).

The Soul wind range capabilities means that this is possible where it wasn't before. Although we both foil, we are after different things and so we are not in a position where we both want to be on the same sizes. So liberating to have fewer kites for travel etc. There is a 6m speed5 in the mix as well but it is a rarely used "storm kite".

I could definitely have a 2 soul quiver of 8 and 15 or 8 and 12.

Wow that would be a cool trip - if you posted a trip report anywhere can you point me to it? (or pm me).
