Why do u always feel the need to stretch the truth so much . What do u get out of purposefully misleading people . Dont belive this guy . Under normal condiitions it will not take 90 seconds to set up a foil kite.

How long does it take to setup the HL or Soul from walking on the beach to riding? I'm moving to florida and may want something for superlight conditions...
Depends on spot and wind condition for sure, but if you have no spot, but just shallow water
it is 90 sec, to get it up. If you have a spot, maybe down to 60 sec + grabing your board...

if you have no spot, not even shallow water:
https://kitejunkie.com/slides/slide/was ... ejunkie-25
About 5 minutes.

to pack down again without spot:

about 7 minutes.

on a spot, if you do it well, which is an important requirement for fast unpacking:
https://kitejunkie.com/slides/slide/mat ... ng-2017-87
about 5 minutes.

Somewhere here I have writen another long explanation about packing... try to find it.
Most important secret is not to wind up slowly and precise but especially to wind most of the bridle lines till the tipps, than you can never have any relevant tangles when unpacking.

But kites as HL or Soul will be a good choice and even easier than the freerace kites you see in the videos. Just take your time to learn it well right from the start.

Ive seen his videos which is my point exactly only he can duplicate what u see in it as its heavily edited and manipulated to show what he wants you to believe . Still waiting on an answer to questions raised from his so called 69 /70 peak 4 relaunch video.

I also prepare and launch more rapidly a foilkite than a LEI (event if i let the bar connected to the LEI, which i often do for time saving). True even on small sizes.

However rolling the foilkite for end of session pack-up maybe a bit longer , depending on your spot and specially in windy conditions. I mean comparing to a LEI where i let the bar connected and packed efficiently (in the same nethose as foilkite : foiled in two then rolled up to the central strut) : LEI packing time is more constant and almost always shorter.

Overall ( sum of time for launch and for rolling/packing-up at the end ), it is nearly the same in my case , in the range of 10 minutes.

With bar and lines attached as it should always be :-) From kite rolled up and bar wound to kite flying -

20-30 second if very fast and you are the best

60 seconds easy if you are good

2 minutes+ if you want to chat a bit.

add a few seconds if your deflate is open and you can easily add heaps of time if you get something wrong or goes wrong. Fastest time is achieved with an almost secret technique lol. Somewhat similar to Horst Sergios first vid but on land.

Landing and packing up can offer advantages too. The main one being able to land in tight spots say on grass. The bridles and rolling air out can slow you down a bit but similar to disconnecting lines.

Overall I think foil with bar attached saves me about 10-15mins a session over tubes. Makes very time restricted sessions quite possible and fun. Throw in the mix that changing kite is less painful and the range and low end and longevity of foils is better, there is a lot of things to be happy about them.

BS.....but i'm not shocked
For example with a 12..15...18...21 sqm closed cell ram air kite none of those times are possible
Start counting with the kite still folded on the beach with bar attached
Stop counting when kite is in the air completely filled with air and i mean filled without floppy wingtips

The bigger the kite the more time it takes to have it all filled up
If launching at edge of window some pre-inflating by creating an arch with leeward half of kite helps

exactly my point I dont know what people get out of knowingly misleading people. It was bad enough when one idiot said 90 seconds and now another tries to top it with 30 seconds .May be u can do this with a 2m trainer kite but definitely not a fullsized kite. You would probally literally have to run or jog through the setup of the kite and not check anything whatsoever.

A few things

I said flying, not full of air, a 6meter will fill in 1 sec, 21m will need 10-20seconds.

I said rolled not folded.

Who the f*** folds a foil?

and

both of you go eat a bag of dicks. maybe together.

+1. Yea, the BS is pretty deep in this thread.

Does it really matter whether it takes 2 minutes or 10 minutes to get on the water? I used to live like that, but I finally realized that life is simply too short for the stress and worry. Take your time and enjoy the process.

Unfortunately not everyone has time to take. 30min sessions are a thing.

Believe what you want. I honestly have no reason to lie, I gave a range. 1 to 2 mins is quite reasonable given the best technique. It's doubtful you have seen or know what that technique is.
