I bought this bar for my 15 soul.. seem to work fine:

So, RRD Global v7. The bar throw looks rather short in pictures (and is not adjustable). How long is it?

@elguapo We are sorry to hear that you had an issue with our quick release system. We are keen to find out more information from you so that we can look into this further. Please check your private messages to talk about this further.
appreciate the email.
i believe we have 2-3 of your bars now on different kites.
and to answer your question...it was nothing out of the ordinary.

i simply activated the QR under a rather loaded situation.
i believe the seaweed got washed onto my lines/brindles....and then dried while i had my kite on the beach (i took a break)

long story short.. my kite started rotating from my slow cobra launch into a very overpowered hotlaunch
it was a tight launch to begin with...in less than a sec i went from in waist deep water to being a few meters the air.
i wasnt going to wait any longer for a deathloop.
i pushed away the QR..and it released as designed..except for my finger taking a nice wack.
my soul kite and the lines lines were somehow ok(i was impressed)... despite ending up in wrapped around a thorny beach tree

my fault for not checking the lines again before re-launching.

i love the minimalist design...and the weight.
but the QR may be too minimal..and not-idiot proof enough for non-professional idiots like me.
when it opens under a load...that force is going to go somewhere.

Looks like it's sold out..
when I posted it, it was still available in 55cm, which I got..
Seems to work ok for my 15m.. got a few big air sessions 13m+ on woo.. did some downloops
Pros: solid lines for big air, stopper, price
Cons: packs pretty big due to floaters and PU coverer lines..

Ozone bars are good except for the ridiculously small depower strap that seems to get smaller and smaller every year. totally not suitable for foil kites.

Ozone makes a good bar. I’m interested in this new 2019 “infinity” bar. I assumed they were going to name the new bar something else since it seems so different from the current bar. I wonder if that’s the name or if FS will be carrying two bars now. Personally for me, unless the new bar is superlight, my next bar will be a custom carbon.

60 cm is the recommended size for a 15m foil kite.

if you say so.. flysurfer recommends 50cm bars for sizes up to 15..

That’s a bold statement. I actually enjoy a longer bar throw with less trim length. Especially during those nuking sessions when I’m going for big air. Have the power when I want it and can ride out the big gusts without having to mess with the trimmer.

The Ozone is a fantastic bar for foil kites but there are other options out there.

When I first bought my 15m Soul I was using the 50cm bar without any real problems. I later swapped it for the 60cm and there wasn’t a huge difference in my opinion and I’m constantly looping my foils. By choice yes I’d go longer but the 15m with a 50cm bar is very doable.

I'm a 60 on all but 6m kinda guy. I rode my speed5 6m yesterday with the 50cm bar and it seemed almost ridiculously small even on the 6 :-) .....can't imagine it on the 10 or 12, but of course would work just fine.... I guess its all what the brain gets used to.
